Well its time again for probably the biggest rivalry in Canada A4, New Jersey Hood vs Yellowknife Bandits. The teams have met 3 times so far and are about to meet in another playoff match, the 2nd time in two seasons.
In their first game Yellowknife was heavy favorite as the Hood were fighting to just make the playoffs. The Hood played Yellowknife closer than any team during regular season except for Yellowknife lone loss to the Yaks. The final score was 17-6 and a huge defensive battle. The score was close as Yellowknife had to score 10 points in the fourth to win by 11.
The second game was in the playoffs as Yellowknife came in as the No.2 seed and the Hood came in as No.7. Yellowknife was favorite again to win by a good amount. The Hood came in and shocked Yellowknife 16-6 but the game was much closer than the score as the Hood scored with little over a minute to go after Yellowknife failed a 4th down conversation on their own 10 yard line out of desperation. The game was really 9-6, 3 point game. In both of the first two games the losing team outgained the winning team in yards, just showing how close it was.
In the third game a beaten down Yellowknife team with lack of depth went in to meet powerhouse Hood and were creamed 37-3. Not much to talk about as the Hood outplayed Yellowknife in every way.
The hype for the fourth game is Yellowknife's sign of life after signing new Coordinator Modok. In his second performance he lead Yellowknife to a 20-7 win over Aspermont(sorry if I mispelled). He showed a new spark of life in the offense and defense, after learning how bad the situation was in his first game here. Yellowknife remembers the spanking the Hood gave them and the Hood probably remember how easy it was to spank them. It is also a repeat of last season except now Yellowknife comes in as the low seed with little to no chance of winning.
Should be a great match up! Good luck Hood. You can guarantee we will give you our best.
