Power Rankings and Predictions - Week 16 - Eastern Conference

Sorry for being a day late, but things got busy with the holiday. (And my birthday. 23. Yay me.) Not too many suprises last week, although the Manitoba – Tim Tebow game went differently than I predicted. This week we get to whip the west, although there doesn’t seem to be many good games.

I don’t know the west teams as well, so I won’t be predicting scores. However, I will do my best to pick the games straight up based on records, players, and matchups.

1. Flappin' Heads (14-1)
Previous: 1 High: 1 Low: 3
Next: @Genosha X-Men
Playoff Projection: Will win this week, and get first seed in the playoffs.

2. Triple B's 13th Cadre (14-1)
Previous: 2 High: 2 Low: 6
Next: @Saskatoon Sasquatch
Playoff Projection: Will win this week, and get second seed in the playoffs.

3. Eastside Eagles (12-3)
Previous: 4 High: 2 Low: 5
Next: vs Calgary Destroyers
Playoff Projection: Will lose to the best team in the west, and will get the 4th seed in the playoffs.

4. Quebec City Chiefs (13-2)
Previous: 3 High: 1 Low: 4
Next: FHockey.com Demos
Playoff Projection: Get an insanely easy game. Will move up the rankings to third next week and take that spot in the playoffs.

5. Regina Pounders (11-4)
Previous: 5 High: 4 Low: 6
Next: @ Saskatchewan Thrashers
Playoff Projection: They should take care of the thrashers quite easily. They’ll take the 5th spot in the playoffs.

6. Manitoba Manatees (9-6)
Previous: 8 High: 6 Low: 9
Next: vs Northside Hangmen
Playoff Projection: They’ll beat the Hangmen easily and take the 6th spot.

7. St. John's Fog Devils (9-6)
Previous: 6 High: 4 Low: 11
Next: vs Alberta Irukandji
Playoff Projection: Should beat Alberta and take the 7th seed.

8. Tim Tebow Sucks (8-7)
Previous: 7 High: 6 Low: 14
Next: @Unsavory Gentlemen
Playoff Projection: This game against the UG is a tough hit for the team. Everybody else in the playoffs besides Eastside gets a win and they’ll take a loss, which will unfortunately knock them off. They’ll be back next year, after quite a few close losses this year.

9. Thunder Bay Hitmen (8-7)
Previous: 9 High: 5 Low: 10
Next: @Prince George Warriors
Playoff Projection: They’ll beat the Warriors and grab the 8th spot.


Spots 10-16 are out of the playoff picture

10. Great Lakes Rum Runners (7-8)
Previous: 10 High: 7 Low: 15
Next: vs Kansas City Gorillas
Playoff Projection: They’ll lose to the gorillas. But they’re out of it anyway.

11. Mystery Alaskans (4-11)
Previous: 11 High: 10 Low: 13
Next: @Niagra Nightmare
Playoff Projection: Niagra sucks, Mystery will beat them. Lol, j/k… Niagra isn’t that bad. They’ll run all over Mystery.

12. Alberta Avengers (4-11)
Previous: 13 High: 7 Low: 15
Next: @Toronto Lockdown
Playoff Projection: Alberta stinks and I have no idea how good Toronto is. I’ll pick a game cause I’m picking them all. I say Toronto wins.

13. Port Dover Panthers (3-12)
Previous: 12 High: 7 Low: 14
Next: vs Shilo Silly Nannies
Playoff Projection: The nannies beat Port Dover handily.

14. Quebec Eagles (3-12)
Previous: 14 High: 11 Low: 15
Next: @Manitoba Lions
Playoff Projection: The lions will beat the eagles handily.

15. Shqiperia Shqiperia (1-14)
Previous: 15 High: 13 Low: 15
Next: vs Kelowna Bulls
Playoff Projection: Kelowna looks average, but the Shakira team is far from average. Kelowna wins.

16. St. Catharines Stompers (0-15)
Previous: 16 High: 16 Low: 16
Next: vs Chilliwack Care Bears
Playoff Projection: I’m not even going to look and see how good Chilliwack is. I’ve already looked at the worst teams in the western division and they could beat St. Catherine’s anyway. Chilliwack wins.

Do other people think we'll lose to the Fog Devils as well? I think we have a pretty good chance when you compare rosters. Granted they have a better record, but I think we would too if we played in the east.

DO away teams still get a bonus just for making the playoffs?

Not that I don't have confidence in our ability to beat Flappin' in round 1, but just wondering what kind of bonus I should be asking my boss for (jk).

we play above our level, tbh. scouting report has us listed as a 36.


and all teams get 100k x level for the playoffs.

so getting there will be 100k. if you win, you get 200k more. then 300k.... then an extra 400k for the championship.

Thanks for the update. I hope to prove you wrong again. But Calgary is a tough tough test.

It was 8-8 in the East vs West count, so it's east=west. It's going to make for some exciting playoff football. No clear cut favorite in either league, some "heavy" favorites but no runaway candidates

Problem with your logic is we put zero effort into gameplanning our game against Tebow.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother comparing. You're always going to get this excuse. It's the easy way out of every comparison.

And I put zero effort into our game against Genosha, so that evens out.

I'd just like to say in advance that I didn't bother gameplanning for any of the Flappin' Heads' future potential losses.
