Can someone explain to me how the rankings are determined between teams that have the same records (i.e. Zeta Conference 9-5 teams). Head to head match ups are kind of difficult seeing how we beat each other up and I was browsing the forums and some people suggested it was overall points scored but that doesn't seem like it's working either.

I'm probably missing one important logical factor.

Thanks in advance.

I had always been curious also and found it listed in one of the (many) faqs

-----a. If there are only 2 teams, it's just based upon the head-to-head matchup
-----b. If there are more than 2 teams, then it's based upon these factor in this order:
1. # of head-to-head wins against the other teams with the same record
2. # of points scored
3. # of points allowed.

In this case, there's a four way tie between San Antonio Natives, Macedonia Marauders, Springfield Isotopes, and Monty Pythons. Using criteria 1, San Antonio and Macedonia are tied at 2W-1L; Springfield and Monty are tied at 1W-2L. Moving to criteria 2, San Antonio beats Macedonia with 407 pts scored to 394. Springfield beats Monty with 443 pts to 361. Even though Springfield scored more points than San Antonio, San Antonio gets the nod because they had the better record between the tied teams.

Used to play WoW. Still had a bunch of screenshots and cropped them to use for theming of players.

Going back to the tie, it's interesting that with 4-way tie, Monty is is fourth with Springfield in third. If Monty was not part of the tie, the three teams would have been tied with each other with 1W-1L. Springfield would then be ahead of both San Antonio and Macedonia instead of behind them.

Hmm. GO Thrashers! Haha. I would still need the Wizards to beat the cubicles to get in front of them. Not sure if that's reasonable to ask for both things to happen.

so, how does it work if you have a loss to a team in another conference?

for example, we're 2nd place now, alone. we have the head to head over the storm, but we have even records. what happens if we lose to the marauders (zeta conference) and they win their game? would a loss matter if it was a nonconference game?

Unfortunately that one non-conference game does matter. A lot of people have been against this idea since it's randomly assigned at the beginning of the season. Unless things have changed, that's how its been since season 2.

Here's to hoping our playoff picture changes QUICK! If not, it looks like Athens will have a very tough road

Trust me Iggy, the Topes are looking forward to a possible rematch but not in the first round.

If we played the top ranked game, my team would play Springfield first round, Rome second round and Sev in the 3rd round. Now that's BRUTAL!
