Any particular reason why he was removed? or did he quit?

Honestly, I only got a PM from him once and he was surprisingly nice.

I think a lot of the sky is falling crowd were thrown a bone just to at least temporarily shut them up.

Yeah... Tim Harper banned Satchmo (Rocks scouter) for not being on the same page with him regarding tactics. Satch PMed support and their answer was sumtin like don't let the door hit you on your way out. 28 pages were filled with GLB players taking Satch' side. In the end, Bort found the evidence and demoted TH.

that ridiculous and then they made Satch a mod for his troubles?

Seems like. I dunno if he has lived up to his promise of not playing anymore. So it was because of this and not the peoples uprising (such as fire tim harper avatars) that got him sacked.

I'll still never forget the first TH advice I remember hearing... "Get Stamina up to 35 ASAP!"

Lots of marathon runners were built that month.

that's back before the xp cap was set at around 40-45 plays per game. some teams were playing guys both ways to get 100-120 plays per game.

From what I've gathered, Satch is the sole mod of the South America forums now, which is where the drama bomb and subsequent mass rebellion happened.
