***O/P/R stands for Overall/Passing/Rushing***

I found a power ranking spreadsheet on the GLB forums and thought it provided some interesting stats. The previous rankings will be off for this week since this is the first time I am posting it, but it did a good job of ranking teams by power based on their team stats. It took a few hours to input all of the information into the spreadsheet but it should be correct.

There are some other reports that it outputs but I'm not sure if it will copy paste on here correctly. I will mess around with it some and see if it's possible.

Boredom is a great motivator.

I really like these power rankings. I think they fairly accurately reflect the differences between the two conferences. The West appears top-heavy, with 5 of the top 7 teams, while the East is deeper, with 11 of the top 19.

On a side note, I see that the Isotopes are now the Isotopped. I assume they got hit with the name change due to sharing a name with a minor league baseball team.

It will be interesting to see how this changes from the week before the cross-over games to the week after. Assuming opspear posts it, lol.

What does the Prv stat indicate? Previous? If so, why were the Vanguards ranked first, I have to wonder?

I don't understand the Defensive Pass ratings. I know Slashers and River Rats have given up some yards, but we're also good at Ints/sacks/hurries etc.

Didn't think we'd turn up #29 there... guess I need to go yell at my secondary

Looks like it is completely based on the amount of yards given up per game.

We're the #2 passing defense in the league? I don't think so. We're good, just not that good. Personally, I think our run defense is more solid than our pass defense. Pity that TDs allowed and INTs don't factor in.

I also think we're a top 5 team. Not #2 overall, but at least we're getting some respect. It will be an interesting litmus test of sorts to see if we can defeat the Bugeaters and see if Arlington can take on the Horde.

Thanks for the post.

I plan on updating it after every game the rest of the season. It's the initial setup that takes so long. Now it shouldn't take much more than 30 minutes to update it each time.

If it was just Yards/game, we're still not #29. That's what confused me. I knew our Yards/game sucked

Thanks very much for posting, Ops. Just trying to figure out what's going on. Could you shoot up the link to the base spreadsheet?

No problem. I will double check the figures, but I'm pretty sure they are correct. The spreadsheet uses the league stats to come up with its output but I think it goes deeper than that.

Here is the link I found the spreadsheet in...

From what I can tell it seems correct after going over all the numbers that I inputed. The Slashers Passing Yards Allowed Per Game has you ranked 27th overall in the league according to this link...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/team_stats.pl?league_id=37&conference_id=0&stat=passing&sort=passing_yards_allowed/games&playoffs=0

...so it must take other factors into consideration to bump you down to 29th using the spreadsheet.

One thing that would be nice is if the games against the Shockers could be removed from these rankings. I don't know if that's easy to do or not, but it would be cool if it were.
