So anyone care to do the math for playoff picture at this point?

I won't do math, but I will do analysis....

Alpha Conference - Currently no one team has locked up a playoff berth, that will change next week. Of the 6 teams logjammed at the top with 10-2 records, the Helsinki Demons have the easiest remaining schedule(they face no team ranked higher than #18 in the conference) and should have no trouble maintaining that top spot. The Greece Lightning and Warsaw Wrath each have 2 games against playoff-caliber opponents. Business Time and Sons of Liberty each have 3 games against playoff-caliber opponents and all of the Chernobyl Toxic Avengers remaining games are against playoff-caliber opponents. Obviously the tougher your opponents, the more likely you will slip-up and lose. As for the remaining 2 playoff spots, there are 4 other teams that have the potential to finish above .500. The Gotland Islanders are the lowest of those teams with a 5-7 record and 3 opponents that rank in the Top 10 in the conference. They won't see .500 this year. The Helsinki Hellrazors are 7-5 and have 2 games against teams ranked higher than them and 2 games against people ranked lower than them. I think the HH take the #7 spot. The Texas Red Dragons and the Stary Oskol Black Belts are tied at 6-6 and both have 2 easy games and 2 tough games. The fact that the Texas Red Dragons already have the edge in Points Scored and a slightly easier schedule means that they edge SOBB for the #8 berth.

Zeta Conference - Minoan, Vilnius, Belarus, and Morgantown have already locked-up playoff berths and with 3 games seperating them from the rest of the conference, it would take a complete collapse by one of these teams to lose homefield advantage. Vilnius and Belarus have the easiest remaining schedule with their only remaining playoff-caliber opponent being each other. Minoan faces 2 playoff-caliber opponents and Morgantown faces 3 with 1 of those games being each other. The winners of those internal games will be 1/2 with the losers being 3/4. My money says #1 Vilnius, #2 Morgantown, #3 Minoan, and #4 Belarus (but I may be biased slightly). The WhatsaMatta U Fighting Elk and the Tallinn Tigers are both at 8-4 with fairly easy schedules and it's probably their Week 15 clash that will determine which team finishes 5th and 6th. There are 4 teams vying for the last 2 spots. The Bratislava Stachstachers are at the bottom of those 4 with a 5-7 record and 3 games against playoff-caliber opponents. Odds are they finish 6-10 and are home for the playoffs. The Chester Romans are 7-5 with 3 games remaining against playoff-caliber teams. The Katowice Legion are 6-6 with 3 games remaining against playoff-caliber opponents. The Ostrava IRONMEN are 5-7 with 1 game against playoff-caliber opposition. In addition Chester and Katowice play each other. Ostrava should end up 8-8. If Chester wins the match-up with Katowice, they can finish 9-7 and have the #7 spot. Katowice would finish 7-9 and Ostrava would get the #8 spot. If Katowice wins the match-up with Chester, all 3 teams would finish 8-8 with playoff position being determined by Points Scored. Chester currently has 351, Katowice currently has 304, and Ostrava currently has 249. If I was Ostrava, I'd start rooting for Katowice.

I'll try to do something like that after tomorrow's games. It's going to get a little crazy around here as teams that are on the edge of making/missing the playoffs start boosting to try and solidify their position.
