The best argument for each conference doing it, is that everyone will have seen every eligible player, so pure stats-based votes will be less likely. The second best argument for each conference doing it is grade inflation. . . twice as many awards, means everyone can be a winner.

and for the most part (aside from last game) all the teams play common opponents. Comparing stats from one conference to the other difficult with completely different competition.

Conference it is. We should post 5-10 players after week 14.
Maybe a few of us can split up positions.
Someone does QB's, 1 for each conf (2 ppl)
Someone does RB's, 1 for each conf (2 ppl)
and so on...
That way each person only has to look at 10-20 players instead of 100-200

I will be willing to do a position.
Not QB, DE, SS, FS, or CB because I have players that play that position. Any other will be fine.

not saying this way is better but last season in aaa 2 hurricanebear took votes from every owner in both conferences they had to nominate an offensive player, a defensive player a GM/Coach, and a special teams player.
He posted the nominees in the forum and anyone that wanted to would have to vote for each position. But it had to be a player from a team other than their own.
He put all the votes and tallied them on a spreadsheet and than posted them up on a seperate thread.

Yeah, I've seen leagues do that too.
Last season, I think it was nfratami, posted about 5-10 at each position for ppl to vote on, and then every owner voted for 1-2 players NOT on their team.
If everyone could vote, that would take a LOT of work. Not sure anyone wants to do that much work again.

i say have one person in charge for each conference, then have each owner send in nominations for their OWN team for each position they think a player on their team will be able to get in the pro bowl. (a team doesn't need to nominate a QB that only has 1k or under yards, not going to get into pro bowl)
put them up in a thread and have owners/GMs vote.

Possible, but you could have everyone nominated or no one. Guess I'd prefer a 3rd party for nominations. And The other way will give other players something to do. The owners already get the only vote. They don't have to be the ones to nominate also.
