Power Rankings and Predictions - Week 12 - Eastern Conference

Sorry for being a little late posting this week (With the culprit being a bottle of Jagermeister)… but without further ado I bring to you my week 12 rankings for Canada A#5 East. Last week I got my upset pick right again (Eastside over Regina) and won all the other games as well. Let’s try to replicate that success. Here we go.

Last Week’s Predictions: 8-0
Total Record: 28-4 (2-1 in upset picks)

1. Flappin' Heads (11-0)
Previous: 1 High: 1 Low: 3
Next: vs Mystery Alaskans
Notes: Put ‘er on cruise control, guys. 35 point win in an easy game.

2. Triple B's 13th Cadre (10-1)
Previous: 2 High: 2 Low: 6
Next: vs Port Dover Panthers
Notes: Very easy next game after a tough come-from-behind win against the Fog Devils. Don’t be overlooking port dover in preparation for the chiefs…. Alright go ahead and overlook them. BBB’s by 60.

3. Quebec City Chiefs (10-1)
Previous: 3 High: 1 Low: 3
Next: @Tim Tebow Sucks
Notes: Another easy game for a top team. They’ll cruise ahead for another win, although Tebow is better than average. QCC wins by 20.

4. Eastside Eagles (8-3)
Previous: 5 High: 2 Low: 5
Next: @Quebec Eagles
Notes: An impressive win against a very good team propels them to the 4th spot. They’ll roll past a pretty bad Quebec Eagles team in a 30 point win.

5. Regina Pounders (8-3)
Previous: 4 High: 4 Low: 6
Next: vs St. John’s Fog Devils
Notes: This previous week has to have Regina asking all kinds of questions. This game against St. John’s should be a pretty tough game. I’m predicting another upset as we finally find out what Regina is made of. They lose by 10. This game is the game of the week to watch, in my book.

6. St. John's Fog Devils (7-4)
Previous: 6 High: 4 Low: 11
Next: @Regina Pounders
Notes: Couldn’t close out the deal against Triple B’s. Now, the Fog Devils are looking at the first of two hard games left on their schedule. A win here would basically assure them of a playoff spot. I think they pull a trick out of Eastside’s book and beat Regina by 10. (Upset game)

7. Tim Tebow Sucks (6-5)
Previous: 8 High: 6 Low: 14
Next: vs Quebec City Chiefs
Notes: A completely expected win has them sitting at number 7. Now they’re going up against a very good Chief’s team. A loss here doesn’t help their playoff push but doesn’t take them out by any stretch. They’ll lose by 20.

8. Great Lakes Rum Runners (4-7)
Previous: 7 High: 7 Low: 15
Next: vs St. Catherine’s Stompers
Notes: The Rum runners should very well win their next 4 games, putting them in great shape. Last week was tough, but an easy down the stretch schedule puts them in prime position. As long as they don’t make mistakes, all they have to do is watch while their competition falters. Great Lakes wins by 38.

9. Manitoba Manatees (5-6)
Previous: 9 High: 6 Low: 9
Next: vs Shqiperia Shqiperia
Notes: Another team with a very easy schedule down the stretch, this first game should be a breeze. This game will be a win by 24.

10. Thunder Bay Hitmen (6-5)
Previous: 10 High: 5 Low: 10
Next: @Alberta Avengers
Notes: Although they’re better than Alberta, I think they might actually slip up here. They’re defense isn’t great and if they don’t put up a ton of points I think its very close. Since my first upset wasn’t good enough, I’ll throw in two upsets this week. Thunder bay loses by 3.

11. Mystery Alaskans (4-7)
Previous: 13 High: 10 Low: 13
Next: @Flappin Heads
Notes: They’ll probably put up a few points against the Flappin’s, but it still won’t be close. They lose by 35.

12. Alberta Avengers (3-8)
Previous: 12 High: 7 Low: 15
Next: vs Thunder Bay Hitmen
Notes: This team needs something to build on, and I think an upset over Thunder Bay is just what the doctor ordered. It will be close, but I think they pull it off. They win by 3. (Upset game 2)

13. Quebec Eagles (3-8)
Previous: 11 High: 11 Low: 15
Next: vs Eastside Eagles
Notes: Down where they belong now, this game is a tough loss. 30 point defeat.

14. Port Dover Panthers (2-9)
Previous: 14 High: 7 Low: 14
Next: @Triple B’s 13th Cadre
Notes: Bad team, ugly result. At least they’re not in the cellar. They’ll lose by 60

15. Shqiperia Shqiperia (1-10)
Previous: 15 High: 13 Low: 15
Next: @Manitoba Manitees
Notes: This team needs to take the rest of its games and find some sort of identity to work on. They’ll lose by 24.

16. St. Catharines Stompers (0-11)
Previous: 16 High: 16 Low: 16
Next: @Great Lakes Rum Runners
Notes: As good as the Flappin heads are, these guys are just as bad. They lose by 38.

im sorry, i can't very well predict you to win by 70 every game.

personally i care more that i got the game right than i got the difference correct, but i try for both.

for what its worth, i said you were the better team...just thought alberta might come to play for once.

Ah the east is so much fun, such a weird topsy turvey conference. Much more parity in the middle tier of the East than the West, though i'd say there is much more parity at the top in the West than the East. There are 3 top tiers teams in the east and then a whole slew of 2nd tiers, while in the West the conference is like 5 strong up top, only about 3-5 2nd tiers, and then for a lack of a better word, garbage at the bottom.

me too.

im not too worried. even if we did win that game we probably wouldn't be making a push for 4th place in the division.

we'll see you in the playoffs. i can't see us losing more than the 1 game for the duration.
