Ladies and Gentlemen, it's that time of year - the beginning of the Pro Bowl Voting. I'm going to be working on a write up with maybe the top 3-5 players at each positions (more for WRs, CBs, etc. you'll see). I'd like to use this thread to discuss, persuade and argue against players that deserve to be in the Pro Bowl. Each "Pro Bowl Team" will be a 40 man roster and will consist of...

2 QBs
2 HBs
1 FB
4 WRs
2 TEs
3 G
3 OT
2 C

3 DE
3 DT
4 LBs
4 CBs
2 SS
2 FS

1 KR/PR
1 K
1 P

I think this a great idea Corey.

I think each owner should submit a ballot for his conference (not voting for his own players). Filling out the ballot for each position and posting in a voting thread. This is what we did in one of my other leagues and it turned out great. Its also good to see some of the nominations by the other owners. Also, this will give each team equal pull on who they think should make the Pro Bowl.

I also think its a good idea to hold off voting until the regular season has ended. Not everybody will have something to do during the playoffs, so its a great idea to keep people busy and talking during the playoff time was only 8, 4, or 2 teams are actually playing games. There's nothing wrong with having a discussion now, but I think you should take each team's official ballot at the end of the season.

What do you think?

I also think we should have a Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, GM/Owner of the year, and ST player of the year.

These of course would be voted on as part of the ballot and each owner would not be able to vote for his own people.

Also I didn't see this mentioned. But there are going to be two 40-man rosters correct? 1 for ALPHA and 1 for ZETA? That would make the most sense. ZETA owners would place ballots for their conference and ALPHA for ALPHA. This would have the most accurate outcome.

Dang Corey - rankings and now this?

This is a cool concept.

My shameless plug no. 1 - Shulkie Walters (K).

I agree with holding the voting till later. I am sure there will be some games coming that can change positions for a few players in both conferences. We are barely over the half way mark of the regular season. 6 games can change a lot of things.

Yeah this is all just discussion - I'm putting a list together for myself for now and then during the playoffs we can vote on the nominations that have been made and what I've compiled.

Are we going to say no voting for own team?? Cause I will be honest and I think it stands for itself as well. Use QB as example. Ecir Calhoun is a top 10 yards, 3rd in TD's by 1, tied for first in least INT amongst leaders. Is also a 95+ QB Rating. And he is 1 of only 2 top yardage Qb's with less then 200 attempts. If I was voting on 3 QB (of which top 2 vote getters get the spots but allows for a good variance of opinion) I would be hard pressed to keep him out of my voting.

I also envision his stats only getting better as we are finding more and more of a balance in our attack at Litochoro.

Vote on whoever you want - this will most likely end up being a coach's poll..

i agree on voting by owners with no own team voting, because i would want to vote for alot of my players, but i'd rather get them on knowing i didn't vote for them.

I just feel like there would be a lot of voting for your own players. If everybody doesn't vote for your own, it would be less biased.

Just because you wouldn't be able to have him on your own ballot, doesn't mean a bunch of other teams wouldn't, and therefore he would be on the final results if he deserved it. See what I'm saying? I understand your thoughts though because I have players I would have to vote for too, but it should be unbiased.

agreed it would also avoid the whole 16 people voted for 16 different Qb's(aka their own) and such lol

I'm personally not going to vote for a player on my team. I also think all other owners should only vote for opposing players. Cast a top three ballot per position and tally the points.
