Ken Shamrock was my favorite wrestler, I was so happy when he moved UFC when he was actually allowed to hurt people. Too bad it didn't last.

Actually he was originally a UFC fighter that went into the WWE. He was the original badass and he went into wrestling for the money...

He went into wwf because he couldn't make it as a mma fighter so he needed to cash in with what he could. Then he tried to go back to ufc where his epic failure (or the realization that he sucked in comparison to real fighters) landed him the role of 'stepping ground' status for newer fighters who needed a nice easy win to build up their confidence.
The failure part has a lot of similarities to kenny-scuzzlebutt presence in this game.
