Please for the love of god someone else please do these... I'm only doing them this week and never again, not enough time. But for your reading pleasure here they are.

Eastern Europe A #1 - Zeta Conference Power Rankings - 8/20/08

1. Russian Revolution – Last Week:
Record (9-0-0)
» Like the great student of the game Real LT is, the Revs have passed all of their tests this season. 3 wins in a row including against the Demolition, Buffalos and Meat, all round 1 home-game contenders. Fireball Jones has proved himself to be one of the better HBs in EE A #1 this season, and the Revs O-Line deserves credit for the holes they have opened all season. With a few play-off contenders left to go, don’t be surprised if the Revs roll right through them all and have a clean record going into the playoffs.

2. Saratov Buffalos – Last Week:
Record (8-1-0)
» Coming off a very, very close loss to the Revs, Saratov has to be the #2 team right now. Like the Revolution, the Buffalos have steamrolled their competition thus far, and are really looking to compete against the Revs for the Zeta crown. DT Darnell Wang leads the league in hurries (21) and tied for 2nd in sacks (8), and have 4, count them FOUR backs rushing over 70 yards per game. After their last game, however, they are last in the league in pass offense. The Buffalos need to find a way to not be as one-dimensional, or do they?

3. Montenegro Meat – Last Week:
Record (8-1-0)
» M-E-A-T MEAT MEAT MEAT! Sorry… Montenegro is just behind Saratov in the rankings this week, with their only loss being from the Revolution as well. HB duo Cactus Jack and Harvey the Wonder Hamster have combined for over 2000 yards of total offense and 31 TDs, and have EE A #1 sack leader Big Daddy Wonka on their defense. The Meat do still have a couple of tough games left, including Athens and Saratov which could help them move as high up as #2 or could fall to #4 and below.

4. Athens Demolition – Last Week:
Record (7-2-0)
» You can call me biased all you want, and can say the Dems lost to St. Pete week 1, but most owners/agents in EE A #1 will agree Athens belongs above the Red Tide. Possible league MVP HB Creepy Face is #1 in the league in rush yards (1,640.5) and rush TDs (31), and still has a few soft defenses left to play against. However, the Dems have a tough spot in the schedule coming up against the Meat, Buffalos and Wife Carriers in back-to-back-back games, and could dictate their entire season. League leader in pancakes, LG Clay Golem (103 pancakes) along with top 10 pancake man Le-Charles Bentley need to give their offense a good push as Athens looks to have a first-round home game in the playoffs.

5. St. Petersburg Red Tide – Last Week:
Record (7-2-0)
» Almost a 4b at this point to 4a Athens, St. Pete’s 3-4 defense has been up and down all season, but has always kept them in all of their games except week 2 and 3. Wham Bamm’s 20 TDs have been impressive, however QB Borris Kalashnikov’s 7 INTs to 5 TDs have not. A weak offensive line might be the downfall of the team, since they are among the lowest in the league in team pancakes. However, a 7-2 record and a win against Athens would have them sitting at the #4 seed if the playoffs started today.

6. Litochoro Cerberi – Last Week:
Record (5-4-0)
» Litochoro might have one of the easier schedules for the rest of the season of the playoff contenders, having already played the Revs, Athens, Meat and Buffalos, but beat the Wife Carriers. Their balanced offensive attack will continue to fool defensive coordinators around the league, with over 1700 pass yards and 1100 rushing yards. Highhelm Lyrpadre leads the league in TD receptions, and continues to burn defenses on long plays, but how long until teams catch on? They haven’t yet!

7. Estonian Wife Carriers – Last Week:
Record (7-2-0)
» Another 7-2 team gets a snub. The Wife Carriers unfortunately have the TOUGHEST possible schedule left, and I will be surprised if they finish better than 9-7. They are 0-2 against playoff contenders, and are a pretender at this point. However, the #7 seed isn’t too bad, just have a great gameplan ready for Saratov.

8. Esgares Death Knights – Last Week:
Record (4-5-0)
» The Death Knights are in the same boat as the Wife Carriers, losing games to playoff teams and winning the ones they should. If they can hold off the Jive Turkeys and Red Raiders, we have our #8 seed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9. Vancouver Jive Turkeys – Last Week:
Record (4-5-0)

10. Helsinki Red Raiders – Last Week:
Record (3-6-0)

11. Grid Iron Valor – Last Week:
Record (3-6-0)

12. Lefkada Ionian Sea Hawks – Last Week:
Record (2-7-0)

13. Krakow Gutter Runners – Last Week:
Record (2-7-0)

14. Samarkand Wolverines – Last Week:
Record (2-7-0)

15. Transylvania Vampires – Last Week:
Record (1-8-0)

16. Wroclaw Mambas – Last Week:
Record (0-9-0)

Corey, you look dead on to me. Athens may even be one spot higher, I don't know. From game film, you and LT are both pretty damn good.

I would switch #2 and #3. And I know my teams record is killing us. However if we win out and some other things fall into place we still have a shot at the #4 seed. Way outside #3.

The only reason I say switch #2 and #3 is yes Saratov played RR great however having played both I would put Meat ahead. i still contend the score between Lito and Meat was far greater then the actual game however the end result is what matters.

I would even drop us behind Estonia simply on H2H. They have the far greater schedule with one of the toughest yet to come. However aside from 2 losses to playoff teams they have not done anything to drop below us. Right now its just a schedule thing. having faced the toughest first 8 games in the league imo, we showed 2 of them we can hang with them and 2 we got destroyed.

I'm sticking by my rankings. They can always change in the coming weeks, but I won't be doing them.. someone without a bias (One of you lazy Alphas) needs to do them.

Just FYI these are not power rankings... they are entirely opinionated rankings that have no set basis in reality. Here is a real link to ligament rankings for our league.

Although like silly man Corey I feel the wife carriers are currently over rated and will fall fast in the next few weeks.

Those mean little. Get into the top 8 and thats all it means. Come playoffs teams will either change or not depending on boosts remaining which can influence the entire perception of the playoffs.

Corey does a good job on his write ups which are opinionated. Thus why I stated my opinion based on having played 5 of the top 8 teams. Only Red Tide and Esgares remain of the top 8 for my team to play.

I was waiting for this lol. He did basically say they are almost a tie and admitted if playoffs started today Red tide would be a #4 seed.

I'd put Saratov ahead of us honestly. They've consistently been the better team week in and week out. I know we had that one game against Litochoro, but that was immediately after a 12-9 win against Helsinki which must be factored in too.

Hell, I think we are ripe for a loss to Athens next game.

ok, I might try my shot at this for the next series. A biased Zeta I might be, but realistic I be too.

I won't put Lefkada above Saratov

I take it that was for the Red Tide.

You do have the toughest ending schedule I can imagine.

Athens
Meat
Saratov
Kraken

4 brutal games to end a season on. Which your head up on overall with Athens and Meat.
