1. Edinburgh Black Knights (9-0) (Last: 1 Best: 1)
Still have the eyes on the prize, but they’re facing the best OL in the league next. However, the Knights have the fewest missed tackles and most sacks of any team in Zeta. Whoever wins the war in the trenches should win the game.

2. Glasgow Tigers (8-1) (Last: 2 Best: 2)
Got a good warmup in against a conference punching bag before they start their toughest stretch of games of the season. In such a tight playoff race, this home stretch could solidify their place as the #2 seed or knock them out of the playoffs.

3. Icelandic Vikings (7-2) (Last: 4 Best: 2)
It’s going to be hard-fought to win the last three games on their schedule, and a tall task to take down the #1 seed this week. But even if they lose all those games, 10-6 will get them into the playoffs. Now they’re jockeying for the best possible position.

4. Milan Cock Fighters (6-2-1) (Last: 5 Best: 4)
Yet another team staring down a tough stretch of games to close the season. They’ve played some damn good football up to this point. Can they keep it going against the best of Zeta?

5. Tilburg Power (6-3) (Last: 6 Best: 5)
As predicted, their powerful rushing offense defeated South Beach’s lack of rushing defense. Belfast will give them a run for their money, but when running is involved it’s hard to bet against Tilburg.

6. Bonn Jovi (6-3) (Last: 7 Best: 3)
Statement game by the Jovi, and maybe they’re starting to wash away memories of their stunning loss to Belfast. Everyone is playing the top of the league in the second half of the season, and Bonn may have it worst of all. I count exactly one surefire win remaining on their schedule. They’ll need more than that, and I don’t doubt they’ll get it.

T7. Schiffertown Griffin’s (6-3) (Last: 8 Best: 2)
I’ve got them tied with Trillville because that’s who they’re playing next. Also because I think this has the potential to be the best game of the season. Both teams need this win in the worst way. Two teams enter, one team leaves!

T7. Trillville Hoods (6-3) (Last: 3 Best: 3)
Not the way they wanted to start their 3-game stretch against Bonn, Schiffertown, and Glasgow. Nobody in the league envies the task they have ahead of them, but they’ve definitely got the firepower to rebound.

9. Middlesbrough Mayhem (5-4) (Last: 9 Best: 5)
Couldn’t quite get the offense going against a tough Edinburgh defense. A TD with 50 seconds to go made it look like less of a blowout, but still a blowout. They need to win their next three games, because their last four will determine if they’re in the playoff picture or just to the left of the frame.

10. Frankfurt Universe (3-5-1) (Last: 10 Best: 6)
They should win this week for the first time since week 3. For a team that was relegated, sold, and retooled, they’re not in bad shape.

11. Belfast Shamrocks (3-6) (Last: 11 Best: 11)
It has to be hearbreaking for them to lose their second straight game by such a tight margin. 4th quarters have not been kind to them, and their game with Milan was no different. Their playoff hopes are fading fast, but if they can turn it around they might have a shot.

12. Oakton Huskies (3-6) (Last: 13 Best: 3)
For the first time since week 2, the Huskies showed signs of life. They were absolutely dominating on both sides of the ball, outgaining their opponent 628-124. Too bad it was against Las Vegas.

13. Jamaica Rumrunners (2-7) (Last: 12 Best: 12)
I’d count them out of the playoffs if it weren’t for the fact that they have the easiest remaining schedule in the league. 8-8 is still an achievable goal, and all the action above them in the rankings may yield some casualties.

14. South Beach Sharks (1-8) (Last: 14 Best: 13)
They’ve got a good enough roster to be a playoff team next year, but they’ve really got to work on figuring out the defensive AI. It has not been kind to them up to this point.

15. Chaos Engine (0-9) (Last: 15 Best: 11)
Radically different than they were just a few days ago. Long term, they may compete next year (or the year after). Short term, they may end the season without a win.

16. Las Vegas Lunatics (0-9) (Last: 16 Best: 16)
See my comments for Chaos Engine.

Thanks man.

Honestly you guys could be tied for 3rd just as easily as 7th. That's how tight this league is.

Lot of great games coming up this week. Yours should be the best one of all.

Alright Driftin,
I've loved your rankings and in-depth explanations all season long. Great job with that!!! Now, this is the game we've been waiting for. Looking forward to putting up a good fight. Thanks for the nod to our O-Line, I'll make sure to pass that compliment on to them, they'll greatly appreciate it.

Good luck, and see you guys in the tundra!!!

Best of luck to you guys as well, it's going to be a great game. You've done a great job building the Vikes up.

Also, I just realized that you drew West Yorkshire as your out-of-conference game last year as well. Of all the shitty luck!

It may be our 3rd straight loss after tomorrow's game but currently it's only our 2nd.

But you are right it is heartbreaking to have as many close games as we have had this season lost.

Thanks for the kudos everyone. It's been fun, but hopefully I won't be around to do them next season

For those that remember, Tilburg lost 7 of 9 last year by 7 or less, and opened the season this year losing 2 more in that very same fashion. We know EXACTLY what Belfast has went through the last couple of weeks. We hope not to revisit being on the short end of the stick in those again.
