Maybe you dropped the end to pick up the linebacker? Although in GLB it seems you can block two guys at once sometimes...

Vision? i dont see the tackle even making contact with the DE.

Either that or you fell for one hell of a double move.

I think that type of play is pretty much how 90% of DE's sacks occur. I have no idea how to prevent it, honestly. I will say though, thatI've seen some OT's w/ 48 agility where that continues to happen to them.

I'd say it's a combination of agility/speed/vision/protect. I have 40 agility, 29 speed, 33 vision and 6 in protect and I've only given up two sacks in 4 seasons (haven't boosted yet this season so I'm going to soft cap agility and add another point into protect when I do boost).

Vision or protect.

Your LT moved well, but for some reason he decided to pick up the blitzing LB instead of staying with the DE. This happened right before HB came up to pick up the blitzer. Two guys get the blitzer, no one gets the DE.

As an aside, I'd like to know what the hell RG was doing on that play. For some reason, it looked like he was coming all the way across to block LT's man.

I'd say vision/agility don't forget quite a few DE are in the 60+ agility range.

With all due respect, AGI wasn't the problem on that particular play. For whatever reason (bug, low vision, repeated crack smoking) LT didn't even bother to touch RE on that play.

My best guess for the blocking assignments on that play are these:
RT -> LE
RG -> RE (WTF?)
C -> NT
LG -> DT
LT -> LB blitz
HB -> ??? either DT or LB blitz

Protect also gives AGI/SPE/BLK bonuses for the LT.

Actually maybe the RG was supposed to some how pick him up and therefore the LT took the blitzer. Which if that's the case that RG best be jacking up their speed/agility to make it.

RG assigned to pass block RE would be a bug or some sort of horrible offensive strategy.

The OBVIOUS blocking assignments would be:
RT -> LE
RG and C -> NT
LG -> DT
LT -> RE
HB -> blitz pickup

No way should RG ever pull past the C to the left side on a straight drop pass block.

I didn't know that George W helped design this game.

The play linked in the original post does have a brilliant exit strategery to it.

I've seen that RG do that quite a bit. He doesn't see to miss his blocks though. It seems that he recognizes that he is not needed where he is, and go help pick up a blitzer. I've attributed it to vision, but he vision is barely higher than my LOT and he is cleary not seeing who to pick up.

This has been a great analysis of this play. Thanks for the input.

I think it's a bug, not a vision problem.
