Fury 30 - Daggers 10
Bullitt 27 - Red Celtics 23
Vanguards 60 - Blue Wolf 10
Lizard Lickers 34 - Badgers 28
River Rats 28 - Fanboys 27
Wolves 17 - Villagers 13
Energy 60 - All Stars 10
Avengers 40 - Slasher 15

Lots of good matchups in the East. The best, Avengers-Slashers, looks like a dud on paper, but I have a feeling the Projector is wrong on this one.

My take? Avengers 27 - Slashers 21

It's nice to have a win in the bag again. Maybe VV can ride this win for a while.

Here's my predictions:

Fury - Daggers
The game will be much closer than the 20 point spread that is predicted, but Fury will come out on top.

Bullitt - Red Celtics
The Red Celtics have managed to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory numerous times. I predict that trend ends here.

Vanguards - Blue Wolf
The Blue Wolves won't get more than a win this season. Vanguard will see to that.

Lizard Lickers - Badgers
The Badgers have a stout running attack and a solid defense. This will be a close game, but they'll come out on top, solidifying a hold on the #4 seed.

River Rats - Fanboys
The Fanboys are tough to figure out, but they are far better than their record indicates. Their only 3 losses are to the #1, #2, and #3 seeds. They the #1 and #2 seeds closely, so I expect they'll be in contention with Sconnie for the #4 seed.

Wolves - Villagers
Very good offense against one of the stoutest defenses in the league. I'm not sure that PTT can stop the Wolves and score enough points to win this game. If I weren't forcing myself to pick, I'd call this a toss-up. It is going to be a close game. Wolves stay tied for the #4 seeded Fanboys and Badgers with this one.

Energy- All Stars
Avengers - Slashers

Energy loses some energy on offense due to this game. All-stars make Seabrook live up to Tecmo's name.

The Red Celtics are no joke. They certainly showed us they could play. Based on my team's experience this season, I have to pick New England in that game today.

Maybe it's just the massive beatdown Memphis administered to us talking, but I just don't see the Fanboys winning this matchup.

As for the Avengers-Slashers prediction, how did the projector come up with such a lopsided 40-15 score? This has all the makings of a great game. If the Avengers live up to that prediction, I don't see anyone stopping them.

Our game with Sconnie should be a good one. Both teams need the win. Of course, the situation was similar when the two teams met last season, and the Badgers waxed us. With any luck, this season's game will unfold a little differently.

I understand it...to an extent.

Both teams have put up similar amounts of points, but the Slashers have allowed more...even against the same opponents.

Fanboys put up 14 on the Avengers and 31 on the Slashers.
Daggers put up 0 on the Avengers and 10 on the Slashers.
Bullitt put up 7 on the Avengers and 16 on the Slashers.
Badgers put up 21 on the Avengers and 16 on the Slashers (exception to the rule).
Wolves put up 7 on the Avengers and 27 on the Slashers.
All Stars put up 0 on the Avengers and 24 (?) on the Slashers.

Based on that, the Projector likely thinks the Avengers will score fairly easily, and that the Slashers won't be able to stop them.

We'll see how smart the spreadsheet is.

You also have to remember that Bort hit teams with a nerf bat. What do I mean by this? Now when a team get up by a lot.... it drastically hits your players. So when we went up 42-7 in the first QTR the game shifted and made our plays play like they were level 5.

This is Borts way to control running up the score (which is a tie breaking criteria). Too bad he did it in the middle of the season.

Well done, Fanboys. After what your respective teams did to us, I liked Memphis for this game, but you guys won a close one. A couple big plays by New Orleans today...

Avengers have a good team. GG to them.

Playoffs gonna be crazy IMO.

As usual, I'm glad I stayed away from predicting, because I thought Memphis and LLLL would win.

The Badgers came through with big plays on three straight series. We had better than a 2:1 advantage in time of possession, 89 offensive plays to their 46, and outgained them by over 100 yards. They came up with two long TD runs on missed tackles and a long TD pass against double coverage; those 3 plays accounted for over half of their yardage on the day. Credit them for making those plays. They stole a win today.

Edit: Of course I meant the Badgers. Clearly the Fanboys' big win today stuck in my mind.

7 of 8 of my predictions were correct. As tough as the predictions were this week, I'm happy with that. Nice job by PTT to go 27/35 for passing!

Good game to the Daggers. You were hard to game plan against so we basically decided to just run you ragged and play ball control.

What a crazy game the River Rats/Fanboys contest was.

GG to you Memphis...you had us dead to rights down 21-0 and I had clicked off the play-by-play in disgust, only to have the box score come up and show me that we'd won.

After going back and watching the rest of the play by play...there were some really crazy plays (like the PR with what seemed like 150 missed tackles, a fumble, 150 more missed tackles and a breakaway for a TD). Our RB also broke out for the longest TD of his career by far.

Crazy plays or not, feels good to finally notch a win against you guys after three seasons!

Good game Slashers. We've actually been experiencing some "technical difficulty" with our running game. Our back-up HB (level 25) has been getting the bulk of the carries while our starting HB (level 29) has not been. And it was obviously apparent in our game with the Slashers. We're looking at correcting that.

It's all good though. We started off 8-0 last season, and our first loss of that season, we defeated that same team in the playoffs. And that's where it really matters... in the playoffs. Actually, the losses we got last regular season, we avenged it in the playoffs, lmao.

Again, great game.
