West Conference Week Six Power Rankings
1. Pewntenheimer "Mighty" Pewnts
Still undefeated, but I was right about the Sidewinders' projected points being low. A HB of theirs did some damage apparently, but as they say, to be the man, you gotta beat the man. Close or not, Pewnts haven't been dethroned.
2. Twin Cities Wildcats
If I were DN, I'd keep this a tie between them and the Bengals, both performing amazingly this season (as to be expected). Even though they seem very even, gotta give them the nod for head to head win. Decisive victory today over a playoff contender.
3. Hammond Bayou Bengals
Interesting game today with the bolts, but they just couldn't get it done, Bengals being dominant and controlling throughout the game. Very impressive win against a team that will be closely fighting for a home game in the playoffs.
4. San Diego Bolts
Despite dropping to sixth place, I can't fault them for it. With Tampa having lost to Bengals, and with us not having played them, Bolts still get the spot. Good luck with the rest of the season, still got a few tough games ahead of you.
5. Tampa Bay Greyhounds
Taking away the ties again, fluke win or not, a win is a win and I give them the edge over our equal records. Easy game today, so nothing to really note.
6. LUElinks LUEshies (E ftw)
Deceiving rankings, as 4-6 are a real battle between three very solid and just about even teams. We'll see what happens with our upcoming game against the Bolts and Bengals. Fun fact, Greyhounds are projected to beat the Pewnts, which could throw a wrench in San Diego/LL home playoff game plans.
7. Austin alcoholics
Tough Decision here, Raiders have had an easier schedule so far than the alcoholics. Pretty even in my mind, so I can't say anything is definitive until they play each other. Can't fault them for a Wildcats loss, and they did beat a team Raiders lost to. With very little to go on, I still give Austin the nod.
8. Auckland Raiders
Another tough decision. With the Raider's only impressive win coming today, it's hard to decide if they deserve to pass Fark. However, they seem to be better at beating non playoff teams than Fark, and Fark seems to be dropping the ball still, almost allowing a Cougar victory. If their game was simmed again I would have to think Auckland would win. Completely abused Hattiesburg today, I would have never though I'd see that after recent season performances. Oh well, good luck in getting the ball back up and rolling Hangovers.
9, Farkistan Squirrels.
Not much to say that hasn't been said, could be fighting for the playoffs but it looks as if Austin and Auckland will take the spots hardly fought for in our conference. And especially now that they will be spending less time on GLB and CN distractions, how easy will it be for them to patch up holes where they may be on this team that is causing such a lackluster run this season?
10. Relatively easy schedule so far, and they haven't had the mot impressive wins with it. I still think they can rebound...just not this season. Thrashed by a team that could possibly be fighting for their playoff spot, that doesn't bode well for any playoff chance they might(have) (had)have. Good luck.
11. Houston Cougars
I gotta say, it's nice to see Cougars are giving teams a run for their money this season, huge improvement here. Unfortunately, just can't get it done too well. I think in the coming season they could be a team to watch out for, but as for now, they seem to be as good as they're gonna be. Good luck, I'm pulling for you guys.
12. Laredo Lesbians
Quite a schedule they've had, very tough. But when it came to the couple teams in their general area, they got the Ws. I doubt they will be fighting against relegation this season, especially since it seems their team is getting better and better.
13. Gotham Crusaders
Even tougher schedule than the Lesbians, ouch. Feel sorry for you guys, but hopefully you can show what you're made of from here on out. As for their positioning above the Bigga Bois, they've only lost to tough teams (Greyhounds today), and their win is against the bombers, which was a better victory imo than Texas'.
14. Texas Bigga Bois
Not sure why they start so uneven, must be killer on a team's spirit. Feel sorry for you guys down here who are facing Bolts, Pewnts, and Bengals first thing. Did give hattiesburg some trouble, and got more points on the LUEshies than I m comfortable with. Good luck.
15. Kingston Sidewinders
I'm not really sure what to say here. It seems Kingston will be facing relegation this season, too bad. However, it seems Bombers are likely to go 0-16, so maybe Sidewinders will have something to look forward to (being able to not be the worst team).
16. Mudville Bombers
I think DN believes you, but I am not completely convinced you guys aren't trying for BBB. I don't see a roster like yours going 0-16, the path you're on. Hell the pewnts have similar levels and are undefeated, and look at the Hurricanes from last season. Eh.
East Conference Power Rankings
1. Pittsburgh Steel
Hope I don't do too bad here. Much more familiar with the east over the past few days, so here goes. Steel is in a tough race with four top same record teams. That's pretty amazing. Easy blowout today against the Devils to keep their top spot.
2. New York Grizzlies
Could quite possibly have been undefeated so far. I believe they'll give Steel some trouble when they face off, so we'll see. Mauled the Brawlers very badly today.
3. The Fighting Farvas
This is absolutely mind Boggling. They beat the Grizz, lose to tupelo, who loses to the grizz, certainly fucks with power rankings. The way it seems, if their game with the Grizzlies was resimmed 9 more times...Grizzlies would probably have it those 9 times. Today however, a pretty decisive win over the Angerswords.
4. Tupelo Kings
I have to admit, I debated ranking then above the Farvas for their win. Their only losses coming from the Grizzlies and Steel, it's a very hard decision. But, I will give the Farvas the benefit of the doubt, though I believe Tupelo will end up doing better than them. For now there, this is where ya are.
5. Niagra Rapids
Also a solid team this year, a six team home playoff game battle going on here, and it'll be interesting to see how it turns out. Unfortunately so far though, their wins haven't been terribly impressive, largely facing mediocre teams. Good showing today against the wolves, though.
6. Funkis Town Virus
The top six is a very interesting place in the East. Unlike in the west, it seems like anything could happen and it will be almost exciting to see how it turns out. However with the Virus having failed at becoming waterborne ( losing to the rapids <_> ), it doesn't look well for them staying at home in the playoffs. Good luck though, and nice win against the Bengals, quite the nailbiter there.
7. Baton Rouge Bayou Bengals
And here comes the mindfuck again. Crabs have won against the steel, lost to the taints, who lost to the Wolves, who Baton Rouge beat. Goddamn this conference >_> With the fact that Baton Rouge's wins and losses are straight up, I give them the spot and continue wondering what the hell is going on here.
8. Murfreesboro Taints
With their win against the Crabs I gotta give them the nod. Gave a beating to the Sabercats today, as expected.
9. Beaver City Crabs
Playoff contender for sure, it'll be nice to see how it turns out between 7-9 and the wolves. As it stands now, they've knocked out the Bengals, but we'll see how things go with they meet up head to head. Easy win against the Cobras today.
10. Chicago Wolves
As part of the above mentioned mindfuck, it's hard to tell if they really deserve such a low spot. However i don't think they'll make as fierce a playoff run as the other teams will, unfortunately. Still, exciting race over here, and good luck to you. Tough loss against the Rapids though.
11. Kingstalk Angerswords
Hit or miss here, however they are batting an impressive .600 in being able to cause trouble to top teams. Unfortunately, they struck out today against the Farvas, barely putting up a fight.
12-13. Tie
San Diego Sabercats vs Twin City Cobras
With both their wins coming from the two worst teams in the conference, and all other games being losses, can't really give the edge to either one. We'll see how this is affected once their face each other on the field. Tough losses today for the both of em.
14. Jersey Devils
What can ya say. Got the W on the Brawlers, will likely win against Clemson. Horrible loss today against the steel though, as to be expected.
15. Clemson Gamecock Kickers
I'm rooting for you to beat the Brawlers when you face off. Even though you'll be relegated, I don't like seeing a human team ranked under a largely CPU team. Good luck.
16. Thundertown Brawlers
Meh.
1. Pewntenheimer "Mighty" Pewnts
Still undefeated, but I was right about the Sidewinders' projected points being low. A HB of theirs did some damage apparently, but as they say, to be the man, you gotta beat the man. Close or not, Pewnts haven't been dethroned.
