1. What is a 'friendly challenge'?
-----a. It's a game that team owners (not GMs) can schedule against any other team, for fun.

2. How do you schedule a friendly?
-----a. The team owner goes to a teams profile page that they want to challenge, there is a button near the top that says 'Friendly Challenge'.

3. What does this do to our players or teams?
-----a. Nothing, it's just for fun. Friendly matches have no effect on energy, XP, morale, fan support, win/loss streak, concessions, ticket sales, or anything else. It does show up on the 'matchup' screen (like the pre-season games are) but that's probably a bug. It definitely doesn't change the win/loss streak.
-----b. Players start with 100 energy for the scrimmage, but they do get tired during a game, and their 'real' energy is still there for the next game or nightly processing.

4. How much does a friendly cost?
-----a. The first two per season are free, after that it's 25 FP for both teams.

Yup, that's how it is currently working. It's been reported as a bug on the Mod Forum, so if Bort didn't intend to have the system work like that, he'll fix it. But for now, as long as you're challenged, you can have more than 3.

11. What are some of the messages a team owner sees when setting up/accepting challenges? (might not have them all)
-----a. Challenge another team to a friendly scrimmage game by sending your request here. Friendlies may not be scheduled within 2 hours of an already scheduled game, must be scheduled at least 2 days in advance, and you may only schedule one per day, in order to avoid conflicts with setting tactics. You may also only schedule up to 3 friendly matches at a time.

Scheduling a friendly scrimmage costs 25 Flex Points, which will be deducted when the other team accepts your offer. You are allowed up to two free friendly scrimmages per team per season.

Once a friendly scrimmage game has been agreed to by the other party, it is LOCKED IN for the day and time you have specified.

-----b. Dear Owner Name, This is an automated message. Your team, the Team Name, has just received an offer from the Team Name to play a friendly scrimmage match on day X at TimeHere. You can view and accept or reject this offer by going to the proposed scrimmage match's status page. If you do not respond within 5 days, or by the day of the match, the match will be automatically rejected. If you would like to send a message to the owner of the Team Name you may simply reply to this message.


12. How will we know if there is a friendly game scheduled?
-----a. It will show up on your teams profile page, listed under 'Scrimmage Games'. It's in military time, Mountain time zone. For example, if it says 'at 16:00' that means 4 PM, MST. If it says 'at 7:00', that means 7 AM, MST.

-----a. I don't know, either something that was overlooked (because not many people own more than one team) or it was done on purpose. Will need official clarification on this.

16. Is there any way to get the team matchup screen before accepting a friendly?
-----a. Yes. Get both team IDs, and plug them into here (where the underlined 'number' is) and put that into your browsers address bar:

17. Is there a limit to how many friendlies a team can have per season? How many friendlies can there be per day for all teams?

-----a. Post-season (during playoffs) yes. Off-season and pre-season, no. Basically day 1 through day 40 only.

19. Is team chemistry a factor in friendly scrimmages?
-----a. Unknown at this point. My guess would be yes.

20. Can you cancel a friendly scrimmage once it's been scheduled?
-----a. Looks like you cannot cancel.

Is there anyway to put up a 'matchup' page prior to accepting a game?

Yes. Get the 'team IDs' and copy/paste them into the matchup URL.

For example, your team ID is 4480. Mine is 754. So...

Haven't heard yet. I can't think of a reason why not.

Edit: I was thinking of post-season. Maybe won't be able to do it during the actual offseason. Don't know yet.

Doing this during the offseason will be a way to keep the players involved.....

Say team A sends out challenges to teams B, C, and D. Is that all they can send out until one of them accepts? Once B, C, or D accepts can team A then send out another challenge, or can team A send out as many challenges as they want?

you can only send out 3 challenges at a time. Once when one of the games is played or canceled, you can send another one.


The only way to have more than 3 friendlies scheduled is if someone challenges you. You can only accept challenges, but not make more challenges until you have less than 3 games/challenges outstanding.

If one team has 0 friendlies arranged, and another has 2 does the team with 0 friendlies get a free game but the team that has already got their 2 free games have to pay 25FP?

That's how it should work, yes.

I have already played 2 that I scheduled yet I am no longer to schedule any more, is this a bug? I do have 3 yet to play but they were offered to me and I accepted, do these count against my limit?
