Warrior General Games

Hopefully the Fire and Kings will be able to help make a name for WE A2 in this tournament. I think we have some very good teams in our league and hope we can show it for you all. I would have loved to see some of the other teams like Ironton, Brighton, Chelsea, or Helsinki join us, but you may not have known about it. Feel free to support us in the forum. I'm not sure how you feel about rooting for us, but we'll try to make you proud.

We received an invitation to join the tournament, and I let them know we'd be interested, though the person doing the tournament had already put someone else in our place. They said we were rated as the 6th overall team in Western Europe A, so it would be nice to see how we'd do.

Had I noticed the tournament earlier, we would have probably gotten in.. but they said we'd be at the top of the waiting list, so we'll see.

Here is a copy of a google spread sheet that has rankings for every team in the WE A. I don't know how they did it, but you can see where your team ranks. It also has the tournament bracket and times of games on there located as a link at the bottom of the document.

I wish you would have made it in! You would have been an excellent team to help represent our league. Hopefully a spot will open up!

Very nice.. Western Europe A #2 has 3 teams in the top 10, more than any other Western Europe A league.

Yeah, I was really proud to see that. I have no idea how they formulate the rankings, but I think Zeta especially is has some of the best teams in all of A at the top.

Put #6 Ironton on the waiting list but have us playing #73 Valencia in the first round....weak.

Ah.. I'm not so worried about the differences in conferences really.. it's just cool to see our league in there, and so many high ranked teams of ours. We are, afterall, just one big family, albeit a little dysfunctional at times...

Crap... I drew one of the best teams in the first round.. I guess I will see what I can do...

Probably a much simpler formula than the thing I'm using in the other thread.......which is why it makes sense.

You can do it man! You've had some much experience against some excellent game planners and teams with better rosters. If anyone could pull the upset, I would think one of the Zeta teams would be the ones to do it. PSUScott is pleading to get the Tanks in. I hope that happens.

Cali, I'm not sure how they rank them, but that is pretty awesome where you fell!

I'm thinking about writing a probowl formula where you take in to account how many minimum of plays and quality of effort on those plays using the league leaders pages. I think I can do a think that will break down everyone where you would just take the top so many from each position. It won't be for a while, but if someone wants to do it first. Go for it.

Definitely not a simple formula, but by the end of the season it generally seems to make sense.

Also, we're working on getting the Tanks in, but at this point 26 of the teams have their friendly scheduled, so it's getting tougher to find that open spot.

Never knew about this or I would of given it a try =/
