Well it seems Zeta is having the most problems with money this season as they make 5 of the Top 6 teams to watch for money problems. Alpha has 1 but when you do the math, they are the greatest at risk of going broke.
These numbers are based off of (Cash on hand - 30 days of roster salary) and does not include loan payments or means of income. 30 days, since thats all we have left this season.
Now here is the Top 6 teams to watch (Rated from 6 least likely to go broke to number 1 being the most likely).
6. Krakow Cheetahs (neg $294,547.08)... Probably a first round dropout in the playoffs, but still enough income to make it this season
5. Bucharest Elves (neg $477,788.00)... they won't make it to the playoffs, but ticket sales and concession sales will keep them afloat and pay the players.
4. Mediterranean Mayhem (neg $837,707)... A very strong team, but with strength comes alot of cash being handed out. They will make it with alot of ticket sales, and what child doesnt want a jersey for christmas of their favorite Mayhem player. Rumor has it they already took out a loan? we would like to know.
3. Latvia Doom (neg $946,517.30)... This playoff bound team has alot of weapons at a good price, don't worry too much since their fans will eat and drink enough to support their paychecks.
2. PTT Dark Knights (neg $1,312,324.60)... I have bashed this team for it's money problems from the start, plus we all know about the loan that will add to their debt. That being said this team has a solid fan support and will get home games in the playoffs. They will just make it this season, just to feel the money pinch and alot of stress for next season.
1. Red Fort Royals (neg $1,209,775.20)... This team is far from the playoffs since they got all the easy games done and over with. Not only I see them being out of the playoffs, this team has the highest daily salary in the league. These two problems will hurt them in the end, creating a huge issue with it's players and fans. I hope they do something and fast to save this team from being taken over.
That is it for this weeks Money Talk with Slicker. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask... also i would like the owners of these teams to give us some insight and respond with their thoughts.
