OK I posted this in the prediction thread, but I thought it might be best to let that one get back on track and to stop hijacking that thread with the talk about selecting of ALL PRO teams like last season. Being my 1st yr last yr as an owner I really neglected getting involved in this process last season. I don't plan on that being hte case this yr. here's my post and thoughts about what I'm willing to put into this from now on.

like the idea of not voting for your own guys also. Keeps you from being biased at all. I also have a way to keep this from being posted on and counts getting messed up. I have been running and doing various forums over the last 3-4 years, and know of a site that will allow me to set things up where once the list is set with the one representitive from each team is found I will give that one person access to the forum that will allow us to post our votes for the various spots. This will avoid having outside influences and random posts clutting up the page we need to keep it straight.
Also a bonus that could be implemented this yr if it wasn't last yr is an actuall League MVP. From the list of the "All Pro" Players we would vote on a list of say 5-8 players to be put on a poll on that same forum i would put together, and from there it would be one vote per owner/gm that is involved in this, and that would give us a clear cut winner.
As a sample I will set this up later tonight (Friday night) and have a link to the forum when it's ready. I will allow anyone to sign up for it to look at what i am talking about, but when the voting time comes I'll be able to just switch the forum lock on so only those involved have access.

If this is a idea that you guys like please PM me to let me know I should jump on this tonight, and that way it'll be 100% ready come the end of the season, and it'll also be re-usable every season.
Should this work out and everyone digs it i would consider opening it as ZETA forum that would have a section for each team and that would be edited as teams move up or come in.
Again I'd like one rep from each team to give me a yay or nay in a PM so that I don't go starting it and wasting my time. Like I siad I can have the basic deal done by no later than Sat morning.

One comment... I think a GM/Owner knows his own team best. I don't think anyone would argue with that. So why not let at least 1 GM/Owner from each team, cast 1 vote for their own team All-star/MVP.

Those players can be recognized and would also increase their value / weight factored into the overall GLB WEA#7 all-star team ballot.

I really didnt' have a problem with the selection from last season so I don't think a change is needed except maybe giving one more person from each team a chance to vote.

I agree. Last year's went rather smooth and drama free. Maybe extend it to 5 reps per league though just to get a bit more balance.

I agree, last years worked fine. Maybe we can find the team with the most GM's and make that the limit of reps per team.

Well you guys can fight it out in the playoffs and the winner will play us..duh lol

I am not saying that last years All-star ballot was biased, all I am saying is that there was a team (can't recall who it was??) that didn't have one all-star on the roster.

So while that is fine, I just think it would be cool to at least have one team representative - GM or Owner - tap his or her finest player to be recognized league wide. Those 32 players (one from each team) would receive a vote. They would be recognized as MVP's for their team.

Then when the all-star ballots are submitted, you use that list of 32 as a tie breaker for a position.

Here is a small example.

Last year WEA#7 picked two players per position. Lets say that in this years all star ballot, Big Gun Runner and Curt Phillips tie with say 5 votes each, but Jason Coker is already one of the All-stars with 7 votes.

Then you would revert to the 32 player MVP list. If Big Gun Runner was selected by his GM as a team MVP for the Smugglers and Phillips wasn't for Basin City, Big Gun Runner would make the squad over Phillips.

This would solve controversial ties - and would at least recognize 1 player from each and every team. It is a guaranteed way to eliminate any team from getting every member of their squad snubbed again from league wide recognition.

I guess this would be considered my .03.

This most difficult thing to doing the All Star vote is getting enough participation from everyone. What we could do is say we'll take 1 ballot per team for a certain period of time maybe a week or so and then just tally up the votes. We'll do the same as last year for the first team and the same for second team where we award ties on the team.
