WEEK 2 POWER RANKINGS 5-16
5. (6) Alert Sentinel: John linuma passed early and often for 270 yards and 2 TDs, both to Laszlo Pall80, in their blowout of Lake Michigan. LUWRENCE TAYLOR (6 Tackles, 1 sack, 3 TFL) paced this defensive as they didn’t give up a TD. Next week, Alert goes to the Expos before their big match against the Pwners.
6. (1) Yukon Silent Pwners: The Pwners dominated in every aspect of the game, except the score. Dynamic Machine was back in form with 121 yards, but it wasn’t enough to pull out a win. Andy Seth (13 tackles,7 PD, 1 int)was a force in the secondary. Next week they’ll have Halifax visit a look to get back on track.
7. (7) Sactown Rage: Second Coming passed for 233 yards & 3 TDs while Iron Head Blats (154 yards, 1 TD) and BScat (189 yards,4 TDs). The offense was clicking and the 2nd ranked D tallied a shutout. This star studded Dline accumulated 9 sacks from Mar Lo (12 tackles, 4 sacks), Omar Little III (3 sacks), and Bay Watch (2 sacks). The Rage head to Niagara to duplicate their success vs Cardiff.
8. (13) Toronto ShenaniganZ: Displaying great chemistry, Joey Heisman connected 20 times with SWU Dreams to lead Toronto to victory. GanDawlf White collected 7 tackles and an Interception for the defense. With Peterborough and Albany next on the schedule, Toronto has a chance to build some momentum before Manitoba visits.
9. (8) Lake Michigan Maelstrom: Alert delivered a beating to the Maelstrom as they had trouble offensively thru the air and on the ground. The staple of the team, their Run D, held MP Hayes from running wild, but he managed to average 4.6 ypc and a TD. Defensively, Jam Ku, Gergo Kiss, and AC Starscream played their hearts out against Alert.
10. (9) Peterborough Goons: The Goons had a rough game against a tough Cambridge opponent. Their pass game came back to reality and produced only 55 yards. House and Hammer managed a respectable 130 yards, but the offense could only generate one TD. LBs U.P.D.L.O.T.S. and Buddy led the Defense. Peterborough will travel to Toronto to face an improving ShenaniganZ squad.
11. (11) Albany Mohicans: Albany had a rough time managing yards against the Way. Their #5 ranked Pass D played well, but their rush D was exploited to the tune of 195 yards. Stimpson J. Cat made 8 tackles and 5 PD. They will look to grab a victory this week against visiting Boston.
12. (12) Boston Knights: A good run game (#8) led by CJ and Hotsauce accumulated almost 200 yards and 3 TDs. However, the conferences worst Pass D gave up 289 yards in this loss. Tyler Adams and Magical Trevor both had 12 tackles. Next week they will travel to Albany to where someone will get their first win.
13. (16) Halifax Harpoons: Halifax put 41 points on the board to claim their first victory this season. A weak run defense was exploited by Cluzeau (199.5 yards and 4 TDs) and Diesel (107 yards & 1TD) and gives Halifax the #4 ranked Run Offense. Mike Akanara had 9 tackles and 3 PD to pace the defense. They travel to Yukon & they’ll need to bring the same tenacity they did this week or it could get ugly.
14. (10) Niagara Parrots: Held to only 1.9 yards per carry and 2.9 yards per pass, the Niagara Parrots offense was unable to move the ball. They have a respectable run D (#7 in conference) but had trouble holding Blake below the century mark. With the next two weeks bringing on Sactown and the Maniacs, its gonna be tough to pick up that 1st win til week 5.
15. (14) Cardiff Cougars: An upset Sactown team took out their frustrations on Cardiff, 70 total yards were all they could produce offensively. Defensively, they couldn’t stop anything, allowing 577 yards and 8 TDs. The #1 Maniacs travel into town this week as Cardiff hope to at least get into the scoring column.
16. (15) Montreal Expos: Max Power’s 112 yards and 3 touchdowns were the lone bright spot on Offense. Halifax controlled the game from the beginning by putting up 35 first half points. MK Mann piled up 16 tackles for the Defense. With Alert and Norfolk’n on deck the next 2 weeks, an 0-4 start for this expansion team is very likely.
