1. Niagara Nightmare (2-0)
Previous: 2 High: 1 Low: 2
Led by RB Cragar Koloski, the Nightmare take over the #1 spot. Dominated Prince George offensively and defensively, eclipsing the performance of the Destroyers. Their running game is simply unreal.

2. Calgary Destroyers (2-0)
Previous: 1 High: 1 Low: 2
Followed up a destruction of Prinec George with a beatdown of Toronto. It’s always impressive when the opposing team’s rush total is negative yards. It gets a lot more interesting next week for Calgary as they face off against a strong Genosha team who will test them offensively and defensively.

3. Kelowna Bulls (2-0)
Previous: 4 High: 3 Low: 4
Tightened up their run defence and worked for a tough victory over the Manitoba Lions. The Levdonski brothers made up half Kelowna’s offense who leaned more heavily on the run this week. The Bulls have been performing early against quality opponents. Stat of the week: WR Golden Gopher leads the league in receiving yards with almost 240 in two games. He also leads in drops, with 11 over two games. Talk about taking the good with the bad.

4. Saskatchewan Thrashers (2-0)
Previous: 3 High: 3 Low: 4
The good news is that they stepped up their offensive production. The bad news it was against the Beavers. They’ve started the year with a soft schedule and remain near the top on a tenuous basis until we see what they do against a bonafide playoff contender.

5. Genosha X-Men (2-0)
Previous: 7 High: 5 Low: 7
Probably the best air attack in the league at this point, the X-Men dismantled the Hangmen. Barry Manilow is putting up MVP caliber numbers thus far, racking up 6 scores and no picks. It’ll be entertaining to watch what happens against Calgary.

6. Kansas City Gorillas (1-1)
Previous: 8 High: 6 Low: 8
Got in the win column by taking it to a good Shilo team. Showed well on the ground and in the air. These guys will give everyone problems this year.

7. Shilo Silly Nannies (1-1)
Previous: 5 High: 5 Low: 7
Got handled by KC. It was far from a poor performance and they matched up decently. They just got beat..fair and square. They’ve got another two tough ones with Kelowna and Chilliwack back to back.

8. Saskatoon Sasquatch (1-1)
Previous: 11 High: 8 Low: 11
Big win in Saskatoon’s home opener. An attacking ‘Quatch team stayed aggressive and took it to the Care Bears. They will be tested on the road against the Bulls, who are already battle-hardened this season.

9. Chilliwack Care Bears (1-1)
Previous: 6 High: 6 Low: 9
The Care Bears drop back to 9 after falling to the Sasquatch. Their pass heavy offense was stymied by Saskatoon, allowing just 3.1 yards per pass.

10. Unsavory Gentlemen (1-1)
Previous: 10 High: 10 Low: 10
The UG stay comfortable at 10 after collecting their first win. The Gentlemen have to feel good about getting in the win column, but should it have been that close against the Irukandji?

11. Manitoba Lions (0-2)
Previous: 12 High: 11 Low: 12
Hung tough against an extremely strong Kelowna team. They are simply far better than their record indicates.

12. Toronto Lockdowns (1-1)
Previous: 9 High: 9 Low: 12
Got beat up by Calgary. Vaunted rushing attack finished in the negatives. Toronto will need to show they can at least compete against the best if they want to make the playoffs. They’ll have another shot to show if they can against Niagara.

13. Alberta Irukandji (0-2)
Previous: 15 High: 13 Low: 15
Came very close to coming out on top against the Gentlemen with two fourth quarter TD strikes to Emil Hansen. They’ve got great depth at some spots, yet in others, barely any. They’ve got a big game against the Manitoba Lions up next… A win would show they have the ability to make some noise.

14. Northside Hangmen (0-2)
Previous: 14 High: 14 Low: 15
They’ve got a potent offense and gained some yards against the X-Men but their woeful defence will cause problems throughout the year. They face the Thrashers next who are the polar opposites. Honestly, I have a hunch about a potential upset here with the right game planning.

15. Prince George Warriors (0-2)
Previous: 13 High: 13 Low: 15
Calgary then Niagara…what a stretch to start the year. It doesn’t get any easier with KC on the way. Barring something big, I’d say the Warriors are on pace for 0-3. But hey, maybe this is where Favre will go.

16. Edmonton Beavers (0-2)
Previous: 16 High: 16 Low: 16
The Beavers stay in the bottom spot for now. Their next game against the Unsavoury Gentlemen is winnable but it will be a tough haul.

Until we lose a game, there is no way the Destroyers are not #1.

We are going to be the first and only team to win 2 championships in the same league, mark my words.

I agree with the logic of EagleOtto, we have never lost and not number 1?

See how your number is littler than the other number?

The NY Giants aren't even in the top 5 this year, and none of them are complaining on the Canada A5 forums.

Its a new season.

Championship is enough to start the season at number one but thats about it. You gotta pay the cost to be the boss son.

It was a tough one-two but given that there was a common opponent and Niagara performed better against them, it gave them the slight edge.

Actually Eli Manning was on the destroyers forum complaining about it, but then we cut his sorry ass.

I'm not going to argue about the ranking but what you forgot to post was the rematch, yeah we lost but guess what we won the rematch and that's sweeter than anything you guys can come up with as the first game was like a scrimmage game and you see what happened in the rematch

See how our number is bigger than the other number?

Alright, Calgary beat the former Psycho Penguins, perhaps now they should be ranked #1.

Should have been #1 from the start, IMO.
