Everything starts to sort itself out here around week 3 as we get a few more good matchups.

Los Angeles Extreme 2-0 @ High Plains Drifters 0-2

With some solid match up screen ratings, the Drifters consistently look tough, but they rarely perform up to those standards. Stir in the conference's worst secondary and lack of receiving core against one of the top QBs and best rush defense and you get a blow out. Extreme roll in this one.

Extreme 41 Drifters 3

Chicago Wheelhouse 1-1 @ Gold Coast Corsairs 2-0

Early scouting of the Corsairs shows them to be very tough. Demonstrating a dominating running game even against the Killer Bees, this team could be looking past the Wheelhouse. The Wheelhouse seem more active this season and out to prove people wrong, but they were less than statement making in their 10-0 win over the Drifters. The GC may have a slight weakness in their secondary, but last game the Wheelhouse were only able to capitalize on 10 points against a worse secondary. I don't see them doing much here.

Corsairs 31 Wheelhouse 7

GOTW 1*Morocco Camels 2-0 @ Somalia Wildcats 1-1

Two teams with high aspirations and a winning resume face off here. The Camels bring with them the #1 KF ranked team but with less than impressive first two performances albeit in wins. The Wildcats were warmly welcomed to AAA with a shut out at the hands of my Beaver defense. Both teams have something to prove here and the Wildcats especially don't want to fall to 1-2 with the Bees, Corsairs, and Tractor coming 3 of the next 5. Somalia did bounce back with a dominating win over a solid Malice team. I expect both of these teams to be very prepared and have a very good game, but in the end, the Camels have just too much offense.

Camels 24 Wildcats 13

San Dimas Saints 2-0 @ New Jersey Blazes 1-1

The Saints are looking like a top 4 team early on this season and their new balanced offense looks nice on them. They shouldn't look past the Blazes but should coast to a 5-0 record before a week 6 show down with the Extreme.

Saints 27 Blazes 10

GOTW 2*Eaton Beavers 2-0 @ Russian Tractor 1-1

Looking to avenge a 59-0 trouncing last season at the hands of the Tractor, the Beavers will be prepared. A repeat performance is unlikely though the Tractor still have to be one of the most fierce opponents and most difficult to game plan against. Expect a knock-em-down, drag-em-out fight here. May the best team win. Good luck!

GOTW 3*River Styx Jinx 1-1 @ Mozambique Lions 0-2

Two teams with playoff aspirations face off here. Loser here finds themselves in a tough uphill climb to the playoffs. Winner could go on a run. Match up screen shows almost a dead heat. The Jinx handled their pre-season and week 1 opponents nicely until falling at the hands of a tremendous Tractor team. The Lions have to be disappointed in their start, but they've had some tough competition. This is the opposite of last season when they had cake-walks early on. This team IS better this season and hope that it translates to wins on the field. The Jinx have such low levels that it's scary how good they still are. If they wait to boost, it will be too late because they will miss the playoffs this season and they don't have a ton of cash on hand nor do the Lions to afford another building season. It does seem they may be content with that. That said, Lions NEED this win.

Lions 24 Jinx 17

Mogadishu Malice 1-1 @ Congo Death 0-2

For the Death, this seems like a game they should win, but it won't be that simple. They lack depth at a lot of key positions most notably so Linebacker. The Malice have shown themselves to be a solid underleveled opponent who was able to avoid relegation last season. Loser here has to consider it a possibility this season.

Malice 14 Death 13

African Killer Bees 0-2 @ Lake M'Zumba Cannibals 0-2

The only matchup of winless teams this week comes in good timing for the Bees who will roll here. They'll look forward to their matchup with the Wildcats next week in a game that might make or break their season.

Bees 41 Cannibals 0

Close to the same score I predicted.... minus 2 TD for Jinx =)

Hopefully I don't eat my words... you're right though. We NEEEEEEED this win BAD!

Good game Beavers, this game showed the real result, not last season disaster.

I apologize for giving up the second most points we have in 10 games. Completely unnacceptable and now I have to eat diodeous' hat.

I am getting torched in my own forum for that defensive showing today.

hehe, we're trying to make a few key acquisitions still like that one. When I watched the sim, I was actually somewhat annoyed because you guys got very lucky on your first two TD drives. Once completing a 4th and 8 with an 8.5 yard pass that the sim made look like a 6 yard completion and then the next drive completing a 3rd and 7.5 http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=104858&pbp_id=1822855 on this play where the guy is absolutely blanketed in coverage, then get a 3rd and 1 by 1 yard. Then of course, came the play I was dreading. I really scouted your team well and was certain we could take away your TE that you abused the last team with. I also was pretty sure we could get some solid QB pressure even against your beastly line and called for 2-4 sacks (which we got). The only thing I couldn't stop was an outside run with that fast food guy and I knew it. 2 broken tackles later and its 30+ yards to the house. I think with a little luck, this could have gone the other way. Good luck the rest of the season!

It is hard not to agree with you, but the same could be said about our game with Saints and about last season`s Conference finals. It is the game and luck of course have a big role, but not major. We are still better than you, we weren`t completly prepared for Saints, and yes Ghana was better than we last season, so more or less all this results are fair. If coin flipped on other side and would then all this results fair? Perhaps yes, perhaps not.
Anyway, you got a very good team and i am happy that we won, and i am even pleased with result, because last season`s result was nonsence and you deserved better

oh yes, just like in real football, "luck" or rather the randomness of all the different variables can cause a wide variety of results. If they ran the same sim 10 times on a game between two close teams, you'd probably get a 10+ win each way and a 4-6 or 5-5 split. Of course, they only sim once, and you get what you get. I think there's always a degree of luck involved! I don't think I've ever been so shocked by a sim as the 59-0 game last season, lol. Though we were hoping for a win the yesterday, I can accept that you guys are still the slightly better team. A lot of season left though.
