For example, a CB is up against a great WR and his focus is set to PASS. You have a call designed to attack the run and set the AI focus to RUN. You have overridden your CBs tactics.

Are you sure that's right? The 'Play Focus' setting says 'Run (stack the box more)' and 'Pass (stack the box less)'. So it sounds like it just moves around where players line up, not their actual player tactics setting.

You may be correct in this. I am going strictly off my reading of it, not direct knowledge.

What I do know is a LB with Run focus set in his personal tactics behaves similarly to one in a play set to Run focus. The same is true of Pass focus.

Huh. I wonder how much of a difference that player tactic setting actually makes, heh.

has it been confirmed that when you set the play focus it will override the individual player tactics? first time i heard that.

A-Wad,

I don't really want to debate with you. You are mistaken if you believe what I wrote was specific to GLB. It is taken from the experience of two men with more than 45 years of coaching at the D1 level, numerous conference crowns and awards, and two National Championships between them.

If you believe your knowledge to be superior to theirs, then I would suggest you send out resumes. There are plenty of teams in need good coaching.

Barring that, try learning about something new to you rather than bitching about it.

Wow, someone got served.

Great job on the guide. +1 million!

What would happend if LB shift box is set to "Use basic setting"?

Does it mean if opponent use I Formation,my LB can randomly shift to Center Strong and Weak side or it just no change and stand in center position at all time?

I really appreciate the introduction to the new defensive AI.

However, if I might make a suggestion for next season... I think adding the ability to target specific receivers for double coverage would make this tool infinitely more helpful. Other concepts to add could include QB spies, zone blitzes, and defensive line stunts.

Bort has said that there is a 2.0 of advanced tactics in the works but its a long way down the road and that a tonne of player stuff is coming first

From what I've seen in 3 games so far, this does appear to be the case.

The play focus affects where they line up, individual tactic (+ run, neutral, + pass) affects the individual's vision and ability to spot the play earlier/before it's too late.
