Recently here at the RCT we have had the chance to talk to two amazing players in the Eastern Conference, Vodka Collins qb (agent Meldlm) and Siya Layter rb (agent drizzew).
Sitting down one on one with these two players i was lucky enough to get some questions off about their preformance and this upcoming season.
Interview with Vodka Collins! (Meldlm)
Hey Skit, I've included my answers below each individual question.
Skit*
1. you doubled your passing yards from season 2 to season 3 of your carrer. What do you think the biggest difference was that helped you get that accomplishment?
Meldlm*
I honestly think the increase in passing yardage had to do with two main factors. First, we started to find our identity as a team in season 3. The team was put together at the beginning of Season 2 and we spent a good portion of that season getting a feel for the game, our team, and what we were capable of and what we weren't. What we found was that we were a passing team at our core, and therefore our offensive coordinator let us loose and allowed me to throw the ball much more in season 3.
Secondly, I'd give credit to my wide receiver core. They all improved quite a bit from season 2 to season 3 and things like dropped passes and such really fell off. I've got a great bunch of wideouts on my team and I'm very grateful to have them.
Skit*
2. In a ranking released by Red Celtic Tribune, the New Orleans Fan Boys are ranked 5th in best offense due to the avg lvl player on the offensive roster. Do you feel good about this ranking?
Meldlm*
I do! I don't tend to think of the Fanboys as an offensive juggernaut. We're just a bunch of guys from a website that love everything football and we're just trying to make our way and have some fun. We'd all love to be the team to beat and maybe someday the Fanboys will get there. In the meantime, being honored as the 5th best offense is a great stepping stone to where we want to be, both in perception from the league and on the field.
Skit*
3. You are expected to post another 4000 + passing yard season again this year, with those personal accomplishments where do you see the New Orleans Fan Boys finishing at the end of this season?
Meldlm*
Our first year in the league we just missed the playoffs and had to play spoiler (which we did!). Season 3 we made it into the playoffs but got knocked out first round. I think that getting into the playoffs and getting our first team playoff win has got to be the standard this year. Anything less will be a disappointment for the team, and me personally. Everyone wants to come in and win it all every season, and we're no exception. But I think as long as we're making progress towards that goal, that's what's important.
Skit*
4. You threw 24 touchdowns last season which was second best. but yet it was another break through year for you doing so. With that said, What are your expectations for Vodka Collins.
Meldlm*
I have very little in the form of expectations for Vodka. I'd love to lead the conference in passing yards or TDs one year, but if it never happens I'm ok with that as well. Really I'd just love to keep having fun with my teammates and winning football games.
Now the interview with Siya Layter! (drizzew)
Skit*
1. Last season you posted 1551 rushing yards and 16 td's, very good stats, What are your expectations for this new season?
drizzew*
All of my expectations for Siya Later are team oriented. I expect the Slashers to win the conference and to compete for a league title. Since the Slashers excel at the running game right now I expect the league will notice Siya in the box score and also Maze Beverly and Cocktail Johnsonrod as a backfield trio that is ready to bring the pain every single week.
Skit*
2. In a Ranking done by Red Celtic Tribune, the Washington Slashers offense is ranked 11th on the list out of 16. in the Eastern Conference. Do you feel this is missed represented because of how well the run game was?
( the ranking is by average level of the offense. and defense.)
drizzew*
Too much attention is paid to levels in GLB and not enough is given to player builds and how specific builds fit into an offensive or defensive scheme, in my honest opinion. Other teams might have high level players that put up a ton of yards but don't score a lot of points and fail late in the game. I'm not too worried about where we are ranked right now. We are bringing back almost all of our players from a team that finished last season at second place in the conference. It looks like we might not get a lot of respect, and we'll just have to use that as a motivating factor.
Skit*
3. You have yet to catch a pass for a touchdown in your carrer, could this be the season that we see you not only run the ball really well but also show a double threat and become a passing option?
drizzew*
We really are a pound the ball down your throat kind of team. We also have one of teh best tight ends in all of GLB in Dre Perry. When we get close to the endzone we run the ball, when we go to the pass Dre seems to always be open. Maybe teams will start triple covering Dre and I will get some looks!
Skit*
4. You had a lot of fumbels last season, 14 all together, What have you done in this offseason to train and get better in this area?
drizzew*
I've trained some key areas to reduce the fumbles. After doing some statistical analysis I think our GM's have figured out where the problems were and we have worked feverishly to fix them. I'm considering using super glue on my playing gloves...
Skit*
5. Your team is ranked 3rd in Defense and 11th in offense in that Red Celtic Tribune lastest ranking, Knowing this what are your thoughts about how well your team will do this upcoming season?
drizzew*
Our defense is stout, from top to bottom. Our defensive coordinator Kurieg is a master at gameplanning. Our offensive coordinator Morid knows how to use a team to it's strength's and use that as a driving force to win games. Last season we were predicted to finish out of the playoffs before the season began. Through a coordinated effort we were able to outcoach many of our opponents and catch them by surprise. Because of that we have to work even harder this season because we won't sneak up on anyone.
We return so many of our players from last season, let me just say I like our chances!
Skit*
Thank you so much for your time. and best of luck to you and your team, and i hope to see you on those leader boards again.
drizzew*
You bet, any time.
The interviews above are real and has not been tinkered with or changed in anyway damage a player rep, or make RCT a better story, all comments and or replies to the questions are those of the player and not of RCT. Here at RCT we want real answer from real people. no a fake news column.
