For a reinstatement of Spreightstown Rum Runner to the Oceania Pro League in favor of the demotion of one of the many gutted teams or teams that are wanting to self-relegate. We, as active/competitive owners, make this league possible and are deserving of a competitive balance to our league.

This should be a petition for a massive reordering in which the gutted teams are moved all the way to the bottom. Sure some good AAA teams will be left out in the move up but that just means they are that much closer to an eventual promotion.

Regardless, at the bare minimum, Spreightstown proved they deserve another shot here over several of the teams we have here.

Before all the guttings, Oceania Pro was going to have it's first full season with no real cupcakes. I was really looking forward to it.

I don't know if the Rum Runners deserve to move back up or not over some other AAA teams. But at least the owner was, and still is, trying to get a Pro level team together. They are certainly a season ahead of the recent guttings.

Plus they threw great parties.

I don't doubt Pain has some tricks up his sleeve to professionally build up a team from scratch. I don't know the situation with the owners and GM's of the other gutted teams, so I can't judge. But do any of the gutted teams deserve to start in Pro?

Bort has asked what to do in this situation in posts, but I don't know if he's got an answer that works yet.

They really need to demote all the gutted teams to 1A and move the best teams up accordingly. Otherwise this "pro" league will never really become a pro league at all.

Its really a catch 22, because as a very recently promoted team, its sucks to think of other teams moving up simply because of circumstance. We've gone from AA to Pro in 3 seasons and worked our butts off to do it. Doesn't seem fair to do it any other way.

The flipside is that we were REALLY looking forward to having a challenge EVERY game, and that obviously isn't going to happen.

Sign me up, a championship would not feel right if it wasn't earned each game. IMO

I don't see how they would deserve it more than a better team that just missed out on getting promoted.

hmmm, i didnt know speightstown got demoted. id definitely rather have them here than a gutted team. at least their owner was trying to compete.

It would be nice, but sets a bad precedent.

Actually my team wasn't gutted. Look up the definition. It would set a bad precedent to move a team down that hasn't been relegated yet, even though I would rather be in a lower league from a competitive standpoint. Nobody gets kicked out of the NFL after winning 6 games. No different here because the team wasn't sold. The entire discussion by Bort has centered on SOLD teams, it just doesn't apply here unfortunately. We have to deserve to be relegated. Just don't lose to us this season
