I read a post from one of the Pro Teams forums that indicated that if their OLine's Vision and Confidence wasn't up to 30 each, under that new rule changes, that the likelihood of seeing penalties (false start) would be dramatically increased. Apparanently some of the testers were getting penalties very frequently on 3rd down (etc). The level is supposedly a little less for each lower league since the lower level players certainly cannot be expected to have 30/30 in those Attributes.

Anyone heard anything about this? What the suggested levels those attributes should be for the linemen in the various leagues? (It's supposed to have an impact on the DLine as well.)

I had read that Vision would affect penalties but this is the first I had heard anything suggesting that Confidence might affect penalties. Perhaps they meant that Confidence and Penalties for OLs might go together like Confidence and Interceptions for QBs...something like that.

It would be something like that... Everytime a player fails in some way they lose morale. The lower the morale the worse you play. Confidence helps to reduce that loss of morale. So a higher confidence, a higher morale and less penalties.

What number you should get your vision and confidence up to is another thing entirely. At the moment its a matter of wait and see.

My C :Vision: 36.55, Confidence: 20.86
My LT: Vision: 31.7, Confidence: 29.33

I think I should be good, hope so anyway.

Most of our OLine are similar to that in the respect that their Vision is typically much higher than their Confidence.

Think of it this way as well. Say your tackle is beaten for a sack to the outside. Your confidence drops and maybe you look to get a head start on the next passing down so you can keep from getting beat, resulting in a penalty for false start.

Glad we have these 2 scrimmage games, will really help me decide if I'll actually put skill points into Confidence. I had just been setting that to auto pilot-training mode. I think my vision is ok at near 33, but if I see I'm having problems with penalties. I'll assume it's confidence related and umph that pronto. Guess we'll see tomorrow

Finally, Penalties!!! Now some of those Special Abilities that help you avoid them finally make sense. Now all we need is Injuries to make the Depth Chart even more important.

Haha it would be funny to see the recaps say... (QB)sacked by (DT). Injury report... QB has broken finger and possibly ass bone.

According to Bort this is all rumors.

Its that or some of the testers have big mouths and no doubt had their heads chewed off for spilling info.
