Anyone else thinking about running one?

Yes, on my other team. Especially when facing a team with a poor running game.

I will be in certain situations.
I really like having this option now open.
Now I can pray for the 3-3-5 next year?

You should be able to get that now with the 3-4 and AI settings. Just use the AI to substitute a CB for a LB in the nickle package.

Not a bad idea.
i dont have the personnel to run that though, plus not sure how well that would work against pro offenses as apposed to college offenses.

Yeah, but how often would that be used?
I suppose it would be nice to have vs like the Foxes.

Depends. The 5-2 is excellent against the run whereas the 3-4 isnt.
Depth charts for the different formations we do have now...would be nice as well.

True- you can take it either way. You can go to where the OLBs are converted DEs- they will stuff the run, but passes to the TE/FB/HB are more vulnerable. Conversely, you can go speed, and give up the run a little more.

correct, i think according to wikipedia (the only quote i have is "The Cardinals already incorporate the 5-2 defense, an older variation of the 3-4, in some of their defensive schemes."), that the 5-2 is kind of like what 3-4 teams would have to do in short-yardage situations without having to change their defense too much. a regular goal-line defense has 6 on the line, so no one over the center.
