Saskatoon…. The Sasquatch were far from hidden as the GLB entered its offseason a few days ago, signing 13 new players to the roster.
“We lost 13 to free agency and picked up 13 in free agency. Seems like a pretty fair trade off,” said team owner Sean Bishop, “The players we’ve acquired are exceptional and I hope they all stay a part of the ‘Quatch for a very very long time.”
By in large, the Sasquatch used free agency to fill gaps left by departing players. However, at some positions such as wide receiver and middle linebacker, Saskatoon used the opportunity to upgrade the position.
“We’ve got some exciting new players on both offense and defence. They’re going to give us the ability to use some new schemes that maybe weren’t possible before,” said Bishop.
“When you add the new talent on this squad with the proven veterans already here, you’ve got an exciting team….It’s going to be a good year.”
The new Sasquatch will be undergoing a physical this morning in preparation for spring training and team orientation the following week.
