Okay, I am neutral on the position of promotion/demotion thing. Now, I understand there are league-wide reasons against it. One, Rivalries are near impossible unless both rivals remain mediocre for the rest of existence. Two- Familiarity- To know the strengths and weaknesses of each team year by year is excellent.
However, leagues would stagnate if there were no shuffle of that kind. The same team would win year after year, thereby causing the site to lose players, then money. The weaker teams would lose interest for sure. So, how about some sort of compromise? Just suggestions, mind you, but how about once every four or five seasons, randomly selected teams flip-flop leagues of the same level so new races can be performed? How about interleague scrimmages, something like that?

Hey, to answer your stagnation concern Canada A owners are asking for only 1 season of no promotion / relegation. Next season once the cap is lifted teams could be promoted. which should solve your stagnation concern.

Promotion overall is a GREAT idea. The problem is that the strongest A teams are weaker than the worst AA teams, so the reshuffling will NOT have its intended effect this year.

Plus if i have been reading right, the demotion of a "aa" team would make it even tougher on us lower level teams. If that is the case i hope they keep the teams the same for next season and give us another season to develope.

Yep, you'd be getting rid of the 2 best A teams, only to have 2 even BETTER #AA teams come in, with their fancy stadium upgrades, established fan bases, and lvl 18-21 rosters.

So, what the majority of you are saying is this: It would stagnate the way things are right now. Giving the weaker leagues a year to develop would eliminate the fear of stagnation. I like that.

it would stagnate things in canada A for a year, but would resume promotion again following season 4, so that its not in a permanent state of stagnation, rather just a chance for teams to catch up.

That's a good way to put it.

The only thingg i see wrong with not promoting is we are playing on a sim...The teams that win this year will have no where near the same chance to repeat....

Why not? The teams that win this year are the ones who recruit well, get players with good builds and use the best tactics. Why would a team like that be at a disadvantage next year playing in the exact same league?

um because everyones teams change...and what if the simulater makes you lose in the playoffs when you had won them last year?

simulation is not perfect

Just like real life. At least in the NFL. in 2003, the San Diego Chargers were a pathetic team, as was Jacksonville, now they are tops. Some times some teams just get better, other teams get worse.

So what? Come back the season after. If you're good enough, you'll move up eventually.

I don't have a problem with relegation/promotion. I don't like the idea that we only got 8 games to build our teams, with a level 13 cap on players that we could sign. That is a definite handicap against fully established AA teams that have had AT LEAST two seasons to develop, no cap level and more revenue due to bigger stadiums. Once we have had a full season to build our teams, I fully welcome promotion for Canada level A teams. Being promoted means you have done a great job building a winning team. It should be every team's goal to be promoted to the next level.

goal is to win every year

not win one year and get slaughtered the next...
