I’ll go ahead and take the lead on the Zeta Pro Bowl. Here is what I propose, give me suggestions and I’ll tweak it and enact it.
Basics:
Every team must have 1 player on the team.
Voted on by 3 representatives per team. (Probably Owner, OC, DC)
I’ll communicate with owners, it is up to them to communicate with their teams and coaches.
I’ll accept unlimited nominations from each team up to 1 player per starting spot.
Every team has to nominate at least one player.
Provide 1-2 sentences per nominated player stating why he deserves such recognition.
Format for nominations would be: Position, Name, Team, Justification
For the team let’s go with this:
QB 2
HB 3
FB 2
WR 5
TE 3
OT 4
G 4
C 2
DT 4
DE 4
LB 6
CB 5
SS 2
FS 2
K 1
P 1
KR 1
PR 1
ST Ace 1
Mixing in a bit of college the leading vote getter in the following categories would get the following awards:
Davey O’Brien – Best QB
Doak Walker – Best RB
Biletnikoff – Best WR
Mackey – Best TE
Butkus – Best LB
Groza – Best K
Ray Guy – Best P
After I tabulate the Pro Bowl results, I’ll send out another ballet for these awards:
Outland – Best OL
Lombardi – Best DL
Thorpe – Best DB
Nagurski – Best Defensive Player
Maxwell – Best Offensive Player
Heisman – Best Player
Coach of the year
GM of the year
I’ve tweaked some of the awards for clarity and for our purposes. Let’s try to get some sort of approval on this by the end of the day. And let’s use our heads and not nominate the whole team only guys that deserve it.
I’d like to get the nominations sent out before day 40, can the owners get their nominations to me by the night of 39? A couple of days to vote and it should be all wrapped up. I’d like to PM the owners tonight with a nomination request.
