1. San Diego Rockstars (8-0): The Rockstars own the top rated D in the league and will rely on it heavily in the postseason. Their Offense is no slouch either (#2 in the league). Collins, Hayes, and Moe lead the league’s top running attack (almost 2400 yards and 39 TD’s).
2. Moose Jaw Jackalopes (8-0): Moose Jaw owns the #1 Offense and is as effective thru the air (#2) as on the ground (#2). The Jackalopes face Nike for the second time this year, but have they improved enough since the first meeting..
3. Yukon Silent Pwners (8-0): Yukon enters the playoffs on a role, defeating some very talented opponents over the final three games. Armed with the #4 ranked Offense, they will come at you on the ground or through the air. Their #4 ranked rush D forces opponents to the air, where they are also dangerous.
4. Montreal Maniacs (8-0): The #1 passing game in the league is paired with the #2 overall D. The Way will find few weaknesses against them.
5. Manitoba Wild Boars (7-1): The Boars stingy D is ranked #4 (#2 against the run) in the league and they will butt heads with the best of them. Their offense will rely on its #3 passing attack, but wont shy away from the run.
6. Northern Lights (7-1): Northern’s poor passing offense is made up for by the leagues #3 ranked rush O. When the Yeti’s come into town, they won’t be able to run or pass (#2 ranked pass D) well.
7. Cambridge Thunder Cats (6-2): The Thunder Cats have a stellar rushing offense (#7) and #6 overall defensive unit. They will use these weapons as they visit Alert and their talented passing offense and passing defense.
8. Grim Afterlife (7-1): In the matchup of the week, Grim will host the Kings. Grim will focus on what they do best, passing the ball and stopping the run, which also are also the Kings weaknesses.
9. North Pole Yetis (5-2-1): When you think about the Yeti’s you think about the run (#6 O, #8 D). The Yeti’s do face a dangerous Northern Lights team, who also favors the run (#3) over the Pass (#24).
10. Sactown Rage (5-3): Fairly weak thru the air (#23 O and #20 D), The Rage’s #10 Rush Offense and Defense will need to stand strong against the undefeated Pwners.
11. Prince George Kings (6-2): Another team who would love to forget their final two games, which caused them to lose their home field advantage in round one. They get Grim and their nasty pass O (#4) and rush D (#5), so Prince George needs to improve that #11 run O and #21 pass D to stop them.
12. Norfolk’n Way (5-3): Norfolk’s made the playoffs by finishing strong, winning 3 out of their final 4 games. However, slipping into the 8th seed sends the Way into Montreal to face the Maniacs. Norfolk’n Way will rely on their pass defense to give them a chance.
13. Alert Sentinels (6-2): Alert watched their season come to grinding halt with their only two losses coming back to back to end the season. Luckily, they still held on to home field advantage, but they draw the challenging Thunder Cats to open the playoffs. They should be able to pass the ball and stop it through the air, but can they stop the Cambridge ground attack again.
14. Lake Michigan Maelstrom (5-3): The Maelstrom possess a great pass D (#8), but aren’t too strong anywhere else. They will need these other facets of their club to step up against Manitoba, or watch their season end.
15. Nike Olympians (4-4): Their passing game can tear up a average team, but the Jackalopes are no average team. Nike will need to strike fast and often if they hope to upset the #2 seed.
16. Bort’s Wrath (3-4-1): The Wrath snuck into the playoffs, and they can thank their Defense. The 24th ranked Offense won’t get much sympathy against San Diegos brutal D in round 1.
