He's just a freak build that capitalized on advantages at the time. He's been reigned in now that people know what the deal was.

A very good run by LUElinks WR Larry Edgeworth. Notice the Pewnts player, Matheus Brazil, who completely misses his tackle and blocks his own team. He was subsequently cut.

Devin Hall, "I call BS on the catch!" play. Mr. Hall had many, many fantastic catches and TDs this year, but no "Wow" plays, only good routes.

What was the deal?

I'm going to say Head Fake and Quick Cut with the needed agility. I've seen a level 6 with 9 into Head Fake run down the field for 40 yards and juke the LBs and entire secondary, a good 4 levels above him on average.

How was this countered? Did Bort lower the SA bonus or did players' builds counter it?

I never saw how it was countered, it's only my opinion on the build. I thought I read somewhere that Head Fake was nerfed a bit, but I could easily be mistaken.

Yes, its the Scorpions. Yes, its a kicker throwing the ball. However I like to imagine a 340 pound lineman running his ass for that touchdown. If it was ESPN they would put it at #10 just because of the fun factor.

After the game, I made a post about it (questioning how someone who was level 12 at the time could juke entire defenses simultaneously), it became a topic of discussion over at the Bug Forums. Bort posted in it twice telling us it's a freak Head Fake build and that it's working as intended. His ability to activate the force field disappeared around game 8 or so, and he dropped from the top of the RB rankings shortly afterward.

According to Bort, at the time it was a legitimate build and I accepted it as a shortcoming by my defense. I built my WR OH GOD IT BURNS up to a ridiculous level of Head Fake since game 8, and I've had absolutely no luck getting that "force field" to activate. With ~50 agility and 8 in head fake, at level 20 he could not do the magic that the level 12 could.

I personally have reverted to thinking that it was a bug of some sort, considering it's rapid onset, immense success, and then immediate and painful decline. Of course, that's why his owner has a picture of a baby crying.
