Western Conference Round 1

Thunder Bay Bloodhounds defeat AU Tigers - Really tempted to take the 8th seed upset, but I couldn't do it. Should be a very close game though.

Moose Jaw Blazers defeat Ft. Richardson Rangers - Lower seed but the better team.

Yellowknife Bandits defeat New Jersey Hood - Yellowknife is over hyped, but they should win this match-up.

First River Freeze defeat Oh Canada Ehs - Upset special. First River is for real, this is a blowout (20+)

Western Conference Semi Finals

Thunder Bay Bloodhounds defeat Moose Jaw Blazers - Another great game, but TBB has already handled Moose Jaw and I don't see anything different happening this time around.

Firth River Freeze defeat Yellowknife Bandits - Like I said before, Yellowknife is over hyped, and Firth River is for real. I'll take the freeze by 15+.

Western Conference Finals

Firth River Freeze defeat Thunder Bay Bloodhounds - This might be the game of the playoffs. Could go either way as well. On paper I just really love this Freeze offensive line.

----------------------------------------------------------

Eastern Conference Round 1

Canadian Bacon defeat Medicine Hat Witch Doctors - This was one of the Bacon's toughest games this regular season, but they are just a little better in every area than the MHWD's.

Willow Creek Phantoms defeat Vancouver Valiants - The Phantoms are way better than that seed shows, they played a really tough schedule.

Lumberjack City Yaks defeat Aspermont Roughnecks - The Yaks are just the better team, period.

Prince Edward Island Sharks defeat Paradise Cheeseburgers - Should be a good game, but Prince Edward is just slightly better.

Eastern Conference Semi Finals

Canadian Bacon defeat Willow Creek Phantoms - The Bacon have already beat the Phantoms, but in this game anything can happen. The last game was a grind out OT game in which a great 50 yard rushing play gave the Bacon the W.

Lumberjack City Yaks defeat Prince Edward Island Sharks - The Yaks just appear to be slightly better in every area, so while this could go either way I'll take the more consistent Yaks

Eastern Conference Finals

Canadian Bacon defeat Lumberjack City Yaks - This comes off to me as the classic speed vs. power match-up, and at this point I'm liking the speed slightly more. That Yaks are a good team, so I won't be surprised to see this game go either way.

----------------------------------------------------------

GLB Canadian A #4 Championship

Firth River Freeze @ Canadian Bacon

Despite being nervous of calling this match-up, the Bacon will win. This will be a game of field position and mistakes. The Bacon are known for there great field position, but also for costly mistakes. I expect the two will cancel each other out.

Bacon - 24, Freeze 19

Playoff MVP - Anderson Ashley (Freeze)
Championship MVP - Jerry Nice (Bacon)

Very nice I could only hope to see you in the championship game. Tho I have to disagree I think Yellowknife Bandits are for real.

No lie coming from me at all, Anderson Ashley is a bad man in this league. I think he's capable of carrying a team all the way through the championship. Of course you've got to give credit to the O-line as well.

See as these predictions came from a Bacon player, they mean nothing really. No offense but it is what it is.

We go undefeated and draw a badass Tigers team. Of all the teams that could have drawn in the first round this is the one I didn’t want. This will be a close one.

Personally, I think all the teams in the playoffs are dangerous. Let the gameplanning begin.

Yes, because it's completely irrational to think that one of the better teams in the league that went undefeated in the regular season could go undefeated. What the hell was I thinking! Oh, I guess I was thinking the same thing you are, "We're going to beat you on our way to the championship, regardless of what you think!" I truly do believe we will win it all, but if you want my unbiased position on it (meaning I can't pick my own team), I'd have the Phantoms beat the Bacon, and then have the Yaks beat them to replace us in the finals and the Freeze winning it all.

Nobody picks themselves to lose though, especially not an undefeated team, lol.

Because now that it's playoff time you will see a lot of teams boost and become different teams entirely

Hmm I'm actually starting to like that we lost, I like it better when people think we are overhyped.. take us more litely, hopefully Bacon will make it to the championship so we can show you just how overhyped we are. No offense to Firth River but 47-21 is all I have to say about our last matchup

I'd have to disagree with some of those predictions. If anyone is overhyped in the west it is the Thunder Bay Bloodhounds. Yellowknife has had the much stronger schedule and happened to slip one game. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see Thunder Bay fall in the first round to AU.

Other than that I think those were pretty good predictions.

Unfortunately with the shortened schedules we weren't really able to see the conferences shake themselves out more. Sadly since we didn't have our roster set soon enough and we dropped the first 2 games, along with a tactics error on my part (stupid not pressing the save button), we can't get in the mix of the playoffs.

Good luck to all the teams that made it though. We will be prepared to see you next season!

Yeah the playoffs are going to be VERY close. Unlike other leagues where there is some blowouts, due to the cap it should be a wild one. It is really going to come down to who did the best recruiting, who has the best builds, and who game plans the best!

Let's get it on!

Yellowknife is legit...

If I had to guess overhyped it would be Bacon, barely slipped by 2 games, overall rating is 30 compared to other top teams of 33, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the Docters beat them in the first round.

First of all, those bars on the match-up screen have zero value, everyone knows those are not as accurate as they should be. I think it was you that did the level comparison where the Bacon came out 3rd (and best in the East) or something like that.

Second of all, we're easily the most overhyped team in this league if you look closely. We had close games, but we won them. Close games don't generally give you a positive approval rating compared to teams that do things in a more dominant fashion. Close game or not though, we have beat every team in the Eastern Conference Playoffs this season except one, and that one is not likely to face us again. I don't think we're overhyped because we're not guaranteeing anything, we aren't hyping ourselves (IMO there's a difference between predicting you'll win and guaranteeing it). I feel like I've been as humble as anyone as I know we're not head above shoulders the class of the league.

And everyone can say what they want about teams boosting to get better, and while that may be true, I don't think there are as many teams and players with boosting left. As I've said a hundred times in this forum throughout the season, the playoffs and the eventual champion will come down to game planning almost 100%. Nobody can argue that each team has it's strengths and weaknesses, but for the most part we're all fairly close overall.
