Here's the final playoff picture after 8 games for Canada A #2.

EASTERN CONFERENCE
1 Lancaster Hustlas 8-0 [357]
2 Puvirnituq Musketeers 8-0 [259]
3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 7-1 [292]
4 Hamilton Lightning 7-1 [262]
5 Quebec Quasars 5-3
6 Sudbury Mountain Lions 4-4 (2-0) [221]
7 Nova Scotia Snakes 4-4 (2-1) [180]
8 Niagara Assassins 4-4 (1-1) [166]
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9 Sacramento Terror 4-4 (0-2) [179]
10 Antioch Inferno 4-4 (0-1) [166]
11 Lincoln Lucky 3-5
12 Toronto Bobcats 2-6 [110]
13 Blitzkrieq Bandits 2-6 [95]
14 S.W.O. Swamp Donkeys 1-7
15 Thunder Bay Shockers 0-8 [35]
16 Yellowknife Rented Mules 0-8 [13]

There were 5 teams that finished at 4-4 and straddled the #8-dividing-line to reach the playoffs. For those 5 teams, I checked each team's record against the other 4-4 teams and put it in (parenthesis). I also looked up each team's points-scored and put that in [brackets], since nobody played a complete schedule against all of the other 4-4 teams. I was curious to see which tie-breaker the game would go to.

Looks like it's based on each team's record against the other 4-4 teams, even with an incomplete schedule. Sudbury played two other 4-4 teams and beat them both. Nova Scotia played three 4-4 teams and beat two of them. Niagara played two 4-4 teams and split them. Sacramento and Antioch were the only teams who failed to get a win against another 4-4 team, and they're the two teams who were left out.

WESTERN CONFERENCE
1 Port Moody Megalodon 8-0 [318]
2 Laval Lumberjacks 8-0 [278]
3 Vancouver Crush 7-1
4 Saskatchewan Wolf Pack 6-2 [204]
5 Tradewest Battletoads 6-2 [202]
6 Québec City Dirtbags 5-3 (1-1) [162]
7 Montreal Raptors 5-3 (1-0) [132]
8 Listowel Huskies 5-3 (0-1) [243]
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9 Ogopogo Lake Monsters 4-4 (defeated Gaffney)
10 Gaffney Indians 4-4 (lost to Ogopogo)
11 B.K. Thunderbirds 2-6
12 Thunder Bay Titans 2-6
13 Memphis Maulers 2-6
14 Alberta Alchemists 1-7
15 Bologna Towers 0-8
16 Westwood Bruins 0-8

The 6-7-8 tie-breaker among the 5-3 teams is weird. Montreal actually defeated Québec City, but is below them in the standings! Meanwhile, Québec City defeated Listowel. But Montreal and Listowel never played.

Record against the other 5-3 teams would take priority, I guess, which explains Listowel at 8 since they were 0-1. But then it should just become a head-to-head between Québec City and Montreal... which Montreal should take because of their win. But Québec City takes the higher spot according to the sim.

I don't get it. What am I missing?

The tiebreakers suck, there's nothing to miss I don't understand why they can't just load the NFL tiebreakers.

we only played 1 of the 4-4 so we lose our spot based on that

lame

Yet if you had beaten them you woulda been in...maybe. The real tiebreakers for teams who don't play depend on common record against opponents like number 3 on the list. That's what the Browns lost out to the Titans on last year since they hadn't played and had identical conference records I think.

The real reason that Titans got to go instead of the Browns is because New England was scared of the Browns and call the league up and whined about it .

Haha, we did play them the closest of anyone until late in the season.

Actually its due to the League seeing Pittsburgh was already in the Playoffs and figured they were a shoe in to win the Superbowl again... They didn't see the need to bring in another team from the Roughest Division in football. They also didn't forsee New England continuing to cheat, but it happened... Luckily New England was so cocky going into the Superbowl they forgot to tape the Giants walk through like they did with the Rams years back and showed their true ineptness.

The roughest division is the afc north?

The AFC south with the the 2nd place jags who beat the steelers would beg to differ

The AFC South claimed both of the wild cards and is clearly the toughest division in the AFC. Maybe even the nfl.

Hmmm... lets look at the AFC South's Playoff Prowess...

Division champions
Season Team Record Playoff Results
2002 Tennessee Titans 11-5-0 Lost AFC Championship Game
2003 Indianapolis Colts 12-4-0 Lost AFC Championship Game
2004 Indianapolis Colts 12-4-0 Lost AFC Divisional Playoffs
2005 Indianapolis Colts 14-2-0 Lost AFC Divisional Playoffs
2006 Indianapolis Colts 12-4-0 Won Super Bowl XLI
2007 Indianapolis Colts 13-3-0 Lost AFC Divisional Playoffs
2002 Indianapolis Colts 10-6-0 Lost AFC Wild Card Playoffs
2003 Tennessee Titans 12-4-0 Lost AFC Divisional Playoffs
2005 Jacksonville Jaguars 12-4-0 Lost AFC Wild Card Playoffs
2007 Jacksonville Jaguars 11-5-0 Lost AFC Divisional Playoffs
2007 Tennessee Titans 10-6-0 Lost AFC Wild Card Playoffs

One superbowl Victory...

The Steelers themselves have 5, The Ravens have one as well... Perennially the Ravens and Steelers are amongst the best Defenses, and lately the Bengals have been known to have a high powered offense. The Browns have always been a scrappy unpredictable team who would most likely dominate if put in a conference outside of the AFC North.

sorry to bust some bubbles but the STEELERS would have made it farther if it wasn't for the big loss of FWP....Look out this year two great backs and a new wr in which True's QB would know alot about, Limas....

The Giants DC actually said post-game that he looked at clips of the Browns game to get a basis for his SB defense against New England, so the Browns did play a part.

And are we really still swirling the walkthrough story? The Herald retracted it, Tomase lost all his credibility as a reporter for it, and Walsh had nothing.
