While doing some scouting for the playoffs I noticed a rather scary trend. The number of teams that are already financially embarassed is staggering. There are several that are in the red and many that are very close to it. I realize that many of us got ripped of with 1 less home game, but it makes me wonder about some of the decisions that were made.

I too am hoping for a long playoff run to ensure I can afford additional stadium upgrades and look to sign some high end players, but an early exit will not bankrupt our team, but only change our offseason stratagy.

I am wondering what other teams daily salarys are and what position standing wise you are in? Also curious what other owners are planning to do to get back into positive cash flow.

Our daily salary is 56k with 95% of guys locked up til the end of season 4, and we are a first place team. But have the minimum amount of players on our roster, and are at a higher risk of energy issues.

FYI this is by no means a bashing topic but more a way to find solutions for some peoples problems. And hopefully be able to help each other with some advice and understanding.

I'm guessing if that is true then some teams fell into a bidding war for players to try and get them in, instead of paying near minimum salary for a player.

Take a look thru the teams in Canada 1A and you will see it is definetly true.

WOW! I never noticed how many there were. I just went and looked at the teams and was amazed at how many were in the red. We still have over 1million and there are some that are negative 1million already. How long do they have before they are taken away? Anyone know?

It's not as bad as it looks. Some teams probably went into negative territory on purpose, to expand their stadium. We will sell seats at the beginning of next year, and that should be enough of a cash infusion to get people over the hump. You kind of have to ride the edge of financial disaster to get into a situation where you're profitable. Once you get enough seats built, etc, you'll be just fine.

The income from the additional home game concessionsi would have helped a bit with that too.

I highly doubt that any one has done stadium expansions as of yet, as the seats from additional sections are only available after the offseason. So putting yourself in the negative numbers for that would be rather foolish, until the offseason. People have definetly added seats to there exsisting sections but will not see a profit from those upgrades for a season or two.

We spend nearly $2M on seat expansion. Our problems are temporary.

Have you read anything in the main forums about going in the red and stadium expansion?

I would have done it if I had thought about it early enough.

Do some calculations on what your revenues are going to be from ticket sales on Day 0 next year. We sold out every ticket as soon as they were available, all year. You can count on selling all your tickets on day one. You'll find that the cash boost is going to be substantial. Those extra 1840 seats equate to 529920$, at minimum pricing. That's 1/5 of your total payroll for the year. Factor in that by my calculations, each person spends an average of $13 on concessions/game, the extra 1840 seats adds another 191360 over the course of the year.... by the time you're done, just adding that one section, without improving, takes care of 1/4 of your payroll for the year for an investment of 1M and going in the red for a little while.

Clearly you are misunderstanding the difference between seat expansion and stadium expansion. I would be shocked if teams had already commited money to stadium expansion, as they produce zero revenue until day 1 of season 4. As far as seat expansion goes, yes many of us have commited large amounts of money to increasing our revenue this season. The majority of the posts in the main forums suggest doing as much stadium expansion as you can, including taking out a loan to do so. But they all suggest to do it in the offseason not half way thru a season. This should and probally is the plan for almost every team here, IMO the shortage of money for some teams will hand cuff them as far as signing a few high level players.

I do agree that the missed home game has hurt a bunch of teams finacially including mine, but also think that some teams have totally over spent to obtain players. The market was a wreck and players demanded huge money. Take a look there are CB and WR that are making way more money than players that are 8+ levels higher.

because the owners of those teams are morons... they gave out rediclious contracts to low lvl players...... when my QB was looking for a team back when Canada A came out some people offered me rediclious contracts..... 20000 sighning bonuses and 2000 dollars a day!!! just rediclious.. .I knew those teams would get no where so I signed with a team whose owner wasnt an idiot!!!!! its scary I just checked!! how do you use up 1.5-2 million on a roster of 44-50 lvl 8-13??????

We are going to be negative for two days and I did it on purpose. We added lots of seats, and will get concessions for our last game, so that will make us positive again, plus if we win our last game, we get a home playoff game, and that should fix most of our financial issues.

People must realize that you do have to pay salary during the playoffs, so probally around 200-350K for most teams. Definetly something to consider for all of us.
