I've been trying to do some recruiting for next season, I have some of my own players I'd like to replace, and I'm getting the cold shoulder. Seems like 98% of the free agents out there want to be in a Pro league or AAA. I feel like the red headed step child.

I think it is really frustrating when you go to look at a post for a prospect and one of the first things they say is "Only interested in...".

Right, that is one of the points. Our team is doing well and we are still getting passed over, I can only imagine how bad it is for some of the teams that are struggling.

This offseason I got one of the new teams in Africa Pro. The team is similarly run as the Royals and we have the same record at 15-0.

I get 2-3 unsolicited PM's a day of guys asking to join that team. FA's respond to my PM's. We have had great success upgrading the roster when we need to.

It really is crazy how much easier it is to recruit with a Pro League tag next your team.

Yeah, the Pro league designation does help. We have had trouble recruiting ourselves for similar reasons. The solution was just to put in a mountain of work finding people, since so many will turn you down. But we are pretty happy now. Even if we move up, I'm not sure we'll be looking to replace any starters.

Get the team name changed and you may have an easier time. When I took over my team it was called the San Francisco Queens. Changed it to California Kings and there was definitely more of a response.

Now it's the Candy Mountain Unicorns, I think they changed it for the better , but seriously, it seems that everyone is obsessed with the "Pro" tag, and those are the same people who are posting over and over again in the recruitment threads.

You have Tourettes Guy and Batman, who else do you possibly need?

Yeah, that's slightly less gay. It's straight enough that I might respond to an offer.

The problem is, there's too much parity between the conferences.

There were three releases of teams between the start of the first season and the start of the second. Boosted players are approaching levels 26-30 in teams from the first release, 24-28 on teams in the second release, and fairly similar levels in the third release.

Given a choice, players will usually take a starting job over a backup role. If they know they'll get a backup role either way, they would rather play in the higher league.

Over time, I think the leagues will start to fall into niches where players will have to move up, rather than how it is now where a player can get from the D Leagues to a AA or AAA league with ease.

Got PM today from a lvl 24 HB (full custom and an excellent build) who is interested in our team in Africa Pro. We aren't even looking for a HB. Just an example.

My team is pretty much set wtih a bunch of guys from Huskers Illustrated. When we were on our 20 game winstreak I would get messaged all the time from Higher level players than we had on our team. I couldn't just take them and get rid of all my HI guys. We are going to lose a DE after this season and that really sucks. I'll finally get to see what it's like to recruit. It also seems like the AA and some of the AAA seem to have easier schedules and less competition than we have here in A6.
