If the Wildcats lose to the Sharks, it is going to be a clusterfuck, with possibly 5 teams tied for 2nd. This scenerio is likely going to play out as all 4 teams tied for 3rd place are playing the worst teams from the East.

It's going to be a slaughter fest against the East because the West teams are going to try and score as many points as possible.

Well, we all know that everyone will be all butthurt afterward when someone finishes 5th. Seems to be more complaining here than in BBB #7.

shouldnt the Bengals just be looking for a win first?

While I understand and appreciate Bears Rule's snark, they're playing a 1-14 team.

One of you guys who is a math major should post something up for those of us who are simple minded.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how the tiebreakers work. I'm pretty sure that simple wins and losses are first. Followed by Head-to-head if appropriate. But after that I'm a little fuzzy...isn't it total "Points For" and then "Points Against" as the next two tiebreakers?

We'll try to make it really simple and beat the Sharks outright. But, they are a powerful team with no weaknesses that I can see. We're going to need our best game along with a few lucky bounces to pull off the upset there.

However, if we lose, which is a real possibility, it seems to me that the Bengals would be in the drivers seat based on the strength of their total points scored.

I can't say how difficult the other contenders opponents are though. All I know is that our game against the Sharks will be one of the toughest matches ever for our team.

The other contenders play the bottom dwellers of the east.

Here are current points "for" in the West for each of the teams that will probably finish 12-4.

677 Bengals
658 Wildcats
584 Bolts
573 Warriors
469 Hangovers

This makes it seem to me like the current standings for the top six should be

Pewnts
Wildcats
Bengals
Bolts
Warriors
Hangovers

I can tell you right now, either the current standings are not correct, of I have no idea how the tiebreakers work.

Well, we're probably going to have five teams tied at 12-4 after Sunday.

To make it all the way to 12-4 in the West...a very good feat considering the level of the competition...and then not to get a home playoff game is going to, well, SUCK.

Current standings are in alphabetical order, if the records are tied, until the season is over.

Oh. Well. I had no idea they did that. Thanks.

Actually, I was wrong. I thought that was how it was done.

You should get the 3rd seed even if you lose to the Sharks, unless one of the other teams scores about 100 points.
