These are all good methods however they lack something. When it comes to scouting the Defense, to me as an OC, I want to see replays of how teams line up against certain formations. Also, sort them between pass plays and run plays.
Like:
Defense against Strong I rush
(insert replay here)
(insert replay here)
(insert replay here)
Defense against Strong I pass
(insert replay here)
(insert replay here)
(insert replay here)
Defense against Weak I rush
(insert replay here)
(insert replay here)
(insert replay here)
Defense against Weak I pass
(insert replay here)
(insert replay here)
(insert replay here)
What this does for me is allow me to see what formations they use against certain sets, how well their CBs/LOLBs and Safeties cover, How strong their D line is, whether or not they play zone or man, cover 1-2-3. There are so many things I can understand simply by looking at replays. All the "run to the right xx% run to the left xx%" doesn't help me as much as watching film.
