Does anyone know if there is a chart of, or at least what the penalties are for playing out of position?

Its not a lot. But it will kill a players morale.

There will be no penalty for players when 3-4 comes out for DE's playing LB or DT's playing DE, etc,

there is no chart, but it really depends how odd the switch is.

An o-lineman playing QB, for example, would be a massive penalty.

Has anyone played a LB at DE? I know I've had a DE at DT once before ... but never a DT at DE ... or a LB at DE ... anyone tried that? If so ... was there a big penalty hit?

Oh ... I tried a SS at ROLB and it worked out well ... did it for a couple of games last season.

I play a backup DT as a backup DE, he has the build for it, and it seems to work fine. I've seen OLB's played as DE's, and there isn't a big hit. You can play DE at OLB as well I believe without a big hit.

SS should be able to play any LB position without a big hit. FS can make good CB's as well.

When you say 'there isn't a big hit' - how can you tell? I mean the stats might be the same but you've got no idea whether its being nerfed with the penalty or not. He could have been having a standout game but for the penalty etc?

I play a SS at ROLB. He's been starting there the entire season, and haven't seen any real penalty. Of course it is a natural move as many OLB's are cross overs from SS in real football as well. Also the way this game runs to the TE side on 80% of outside running plays, why not have a faster player and better pass defender in that spot.

My DE at KR/PR was all right. That might be because I got such few reps though.

Well, I know the CPU AI would play my starting FB as an extra TE on the goal line (which arguably isn't that unusual). So I'm assuming that there wouldn't be a huge penalty for a sub like that if that's the move the computer went with. It wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, though.
