There not having playoffs in this conf this year, they decided Cairo was just to good now they got D3 and so they are just giving us the title.

This is true. But upon receiving the championship trophy from his teammate Austin Mceuen, D3 promptly dropped it. Luckily, there was a replica backstage, since the organizers knew of D3's butterfingers... but alas, he dropped that one too.
So they just said "fuck it" and are now organizing an eight-team playoff.
