I was poking around in the suggestions forum and came across this:

What do you think?

Me too, I think it would be a great solution to alot of problems.

I think some of the issues will sort themselves out in a few seasons. Over the last season they expanded so much that GLB created the problem by allowing so many new low-level players.

It would help if there wasn't so much disparity between "rookies" and "veterans". With the current system it's like putting a 10 year old in a game with Tomlinson and Urlacher. New players shouldn't be THAT much worse than the veterans.

And I think a lot of people like owning a team and having their own players and their friends players on it. Under a level-capped league, all the players will eventually be separated from the owners/GMs.

I read the original post and a few of the other posts. Not all 100+ other posts. I'm not sure which point you are asking me to look at.

Under that proposal each owner would have to run three teams, right? Or they could only purchase a team on one level. I think that would add some complex ownership issues, but I guess it would work. As long as the "High School" teams could not offer long term contracts if they didn't own the other teams in the farm system.

Maybe as they expand they could create a "world" where a farm & cap system exists. I don't think they should force a mega change like this on the existing users.

This game certainly has some flaws that need fixed. But the paying user base is pretty big right now and it's bad idea to constantly be making major changes. I hate how they make a change and the response is "We're a beta game." I don't know many beta games that accept your money on a scale this large. Most people who have paid expect a certain level of stability in the rules and game play.

True that. But, if they make any changes, they should probably do it before the next season starts.

I'm curious how this game will look in a few more seasons. At some point, new users will have to stay in the D Leagues for several seasons before they can even compete on human controlled teams.

A finite number of teams/leagues. An infinite amount of users who can create an infinite amount of players. Something needs to be done.

It is definitely an owners market. Too many players in limbo and it's only gonna get worse. They're gonna need to create alot more teams if they don't want people to start getting pissed off.

The D leagues are setup to basically only take you for 1 season(no offers from D Leagues once you are level 7+). I personally think they were too generous with the aging effect. You start getting negative impact after or during your 10th season, I forget which.

Outside of that effect you are going to need some sort of cap to move people up the ladder as they level to keep allowing for new players to play after level 7ish, to keep the Leagues competitive, etc. I like the softcap idea they are working towards, and personally think it's season 4 version is a bit too soft. With new life like this site though it is easier to work towards the hard fix, then trying to jump right to it.

As for the beta game, quite a few actually have taken a good bit of money while still in a beta stage.
