Ok so, after going through enough stats to render myself blind, i've come up with an All-Pro team that, I believe, represents the top players for this season.

There are a lot of problems with doing this, obviously. The biggest being what to do with the statistics for the Bratislava games, post-meltdown. Of course, if i counted those games, this team would be entirely different based on stats alone. So, in the interest of fair play, and trying to be as reasonable as possible, i went through and removed them the best I could.

As you will see, and no doubt comment on, this all-pro team for Alpha conference is heavy with Minsk, Krakow and LBT players. That can't be avoided as, generally speaking, the 3 top teams are filled with extremely talented players and builds.

Disclaimer: These are just my opinions. Please feel free to comment on notable players left out, my being a "homer" for picking some of my teammates and my own players and Derek's total inappropriate use of the "Kurt Russell" card in another thread.

1st Team Alpha Conference All-Pro Squad

QB - Dan Morris, Krakow Cows (L20)
*There is no debate on this one, as Dan Morris is the class of the EEAA4 QB's. Leading his team to a 14-1 record, he's passed for over 4000 yards at a 67% clip, with 32 td's to only 10 INT's for a 92.7 passer rating. If you were going to start a new franchise tomorrow, Dan would be hands down the guy you would want running that team.

RB - JaBeaumont Jackson, Minsk Ninjas (L21)
*Again, no debate here at RB. JaBeaumont is the cream of the crop of the RB's in AA4 Alpha this season. He has rushed for almost 1700 yards and 20 TDs, with a paltry 4.3 avg per rush, leading the Ninja's to a 15-1 record and a potential #1 seed in the playoffs. He gets it done.

FB - Broken Tackle, Lowell Bengal Tigers (L14)
* A very tough choice here, but eventually I had to give it to the kid from LBT. A week 2 pick-up off the free agent wires, who would have thought the rookie from LBT would have made such an impact? Constantly playing 4-7 levels below his competition, he has scored 12 td's in 13 games, and has only fumbled twice in 90 carries. All he does is get the job done, and score.

WR 1 - Trent McSteele, Krakow Cows (L21)
* Pretty easy selection here. Trent has been a model of consistency for the Krakow team. As Morris's favorite target, he's racked up almost 1400 receiving yards to go along with 13 td's. In a league stacked deep with talented receievers, Trent stands out as one of the top scoring threats in AA4 Alpha.

WR 2 - Cajun Martini, Lowell Bengal Tigers (L19)
* For football experts, not much of a surprise here. Cajun has been a consistent presence for his team in the box scores. Averaging 10.2 yards per catch, he's seen the end-zone 7 times this season. Couple that with 72 receptions for 750 yards, in an offense that constantly switches focus from rush to pass, and you can see why he is on this list.

TE - Billy JawBreaker, Krakow Cows (L20)
*One of the tougher positions to fill on a team, since you can't see the true effect of a TE in offensive stats alone. However, sporting an impressive resume of 68 receptions, 700 yards, 9 td's and a 10.2 ypc, you just can't overlook Billy's contribution to his team.

The Offensive Line
There is no good way to figure out who truly deserves to be an "All-Pro" on the offensive line. With the "Bratislava" incident, the pancake numbers are just too inflated, and honestly, I don't really want to sort through every single team to figure out who's numbers have been affected. Plus, I would need to sort through each team to figure out who runs, who passes, which RB's have benefited from solid run blocking, which QB's have benefited from solid pass-blocking, etc etc. Just too much information to try and expound from watching film. And honestly, too many games to watch to get that information. So, i'm taking a short-cut here and going to simply list off 8 guys (3 G's, 3 OT's, 2 C's) who I believe do their jobs in the trenches just about better than anyone. Forgive me if this seems half-assed, but until there are more statistics for the "line," i just don't see a better way to do it.

Offensive Tackles -
Dj Sneak, Minsk Ninjas (L21)
- 116 pancakes, averaging 69 plays per game
Tunch De Hansa, Lowell Bengal Tigers (L19)
- 89 pancakes, averaging 74 players per game
Sam Smash, Krakow Cows (L23)
- 76 pancakes, averaging 60 players per game

Offensive Guards -
Zar Suarez, Lowell Bengal Tigers (L19)
- 98 pancakes, 68 ppg
Moo Moo Rodriguez, Minsk Ninjas, (L21)
- 82 pancakes, 55 ppg
Tony Reichstein, Moscow Vandals (L20)
- 58 pancakes, 65 ppg

Centers -
Berry Seinfeld, Minsk Ninjas (L22)
- 158 pancakes, 72 ppg
John Collins, Tallaght Outlaws (L23)
-147 pancakes, 72ppg (88 pancakes, 72 ppg pre-Bratislava)

__________________
Special Teams:

K - Tex Bailey, Minsk Ninjas (L20)
* Very tough call here as you could make a case for any of the top 5 kickers in the league. However, 2 things came into play here a) FG Pct and b) FGA's. Not only has Tex attempted more FG's than any other kicker, but has has kicked for a higher % than anyone. And that, in my book, shows that Tex is deserving of the All-Pro nod.

P - Desert Eagle, Florida Buccaneers (L18)
* Desert's leg has to be falling off at this point. 135 punts this season, 4227 total yards for a 31.3 average. Hopefully, once this season ends, the team will be springing for a 3day/4night stay at a Hilton resort and spa somewhere in Asia. This guy is going to need all the "Asian Massages" he can get. 2 words for you Desert, "Happy Endings."

KR - This guy is high, London Dolphins (L11)
* Much like Desert above, this guy has been busy this season. 89 KR's for over 2600 yards, including one TD. He's averaged 30 yards per return. He's a work-horse, and therefore gets my Nod as the AA4 Alpha All-Pro KR.

PR - Flashy McJones, Minsk Ninjas (L21)
* Not much question here. 108 returns, 2200 yards and 6 td's. Nuff Said

______________
Defense:

LDE - BigJim Slade, Lowell Bengal Tigers, (L19)
*2 players stand out on the left side, Slade and Jason JT Taylor. However, I think BigJim deserves the nod here. Playing the entire season lined-up against the strong side, he's not only produced as a run-stuffer with 60 tackles, but 25% of those tackles have been for losses. Couple that with the fact that, against the top tackles and guards in the league, he's sacked the QB 4 times and hurried the QB 32 times, this guys deserves the award.

NT - Beta Vandal, Moscow Vandals (L19)
* Is there a better NT in the league? I don't think so. Producing 8 sacks this season, with 1 int, 3 ff's a safety and 57 tackles, his motor just never stops. Beta gets the nod here as the class of the NT's.

DT - Russian Bear, Moscow Bears (L19)
* Tough call here with Michael Cosgrove from the Vandals being a close 2nd. However, have to give to the nod to a DT who's produced 70 tackles this season, to go along with 3 sacks and 2 FF's.

RDE - Sven Vath, Minsk Ninjas (L21)
* Sven is the class of the RDE's in AA4 Alpha. He puts constant pressure on the QB, as evidenced by his 10 sacks and 35 hurries this season. He is the consummate pass-rusher and the cog that makes the Ninja's defense go.

LOLB - Otega DelaCruz, Lowell Bengal Tigers (L19)
* To understand this pick, you have to understand the job of a LOLB in a 4-3 defense. The LOLB's job is to cover the TE on passing downs and to take care of the flat in running downs. You don't see LOLB's rush the QB, unless the team is a playing heavy zone defense. So, to that end, Otega was a cut above the LOLB's this year, making 66 tackles this year. But more importantly, he produced 5 int's and deflected 12 passes.

MLB - Tim Reichstein, Moscow Vandals (L22)
*A MLB's job is to patrol the interior of the defense. No one did it better this year than Tim. 71 tackles and 3 sacks, while still deflecting 13 passes. He shut down RB's that ran inside and still got to the QB 3 times. The consummate MLB.

ROLB - Bootney Farnsworth, International Players (L18)
* Toughest of the 3 LB spots to pick. In the GLB sim, the ROLB really doesn't have the impact as he would in a real life 4-3 defensive scheme. IN GLB, it seems the ROLB doesn't blitz much, even though he lines up on the weakside. This was a tough one to pick, but Bootney had a great season and edged out a couple players for this spot.

CB - KJ Smith, Krakow Cows (L21)
* If there is any cornerback in the league, that QB's just fear, KJ is that guy. In my estimation, he is the premier shutdown corner in our league. 8 Interceptions this season, but more importantly, 76 pass deflections. You can't throw on him.

CB - Dexter Bennett, Lowell Bengal Tigers (L16)
* Ok, so sue me. Ya, homer pick again, and yes, i'm his D coordinator. But, i gotta tell ya. A guy who has played 3-6 levels below his competition all year, has come out and surprised us all, in limited playing time. Leading the league in INT's in not easily done. More importantly, leading the league in INT's, while getting limited minutes as the 5th CB in a rotation heavy with shut-down guys, and ya, you can see why i had to choose him. Dex just goes out and intercepts the ball. Almost every game.

FS - Seymor Fiddy, Lowell Bengal Tigers (L21)
* Tough call between Seymor and T Mays of Minsk, but in the end, Seymor gets the nod. The only FS to return an INT for a touchdown this year, coupled with 22 pass deflections and 3 total int's, and Seymor deserves to get the nod.

SS - Poy Tromalu, Leicester Lynxes (L17)
* It's tough to quantify how important a good SS is to a football team. They have so many responsibilities on the field, in all situations. My pick here, Poy, is based off the fact that this guy worked his but off each game, playing for a 5-10 team. 90 tackles from the SS position is a lot. And really, it shows that their defense was very susceptible to getting ran and thrown on. However, as the safety valve of the defense, Poy did an admiral job. Sure, there were more SS's with more interceptions, 40-50 tackles, 20-30 PD's, etc. But in the end, this guy HAD to make sure he was making tackles each and every game, and he did that.

Hope u enjoy

1st Team Zeta All-Pro, brought to you by RTGC

Offense:

QB - Franchise Taylor, Warsaw Warriors
*Tough decision here between Taylor and Coop A. Sonic. There are arguments for both, but in the end Taylor had more Ds and a better TD/Int ratio.

RB - abc123, Warsaw Warriors
*No contest here. Had as many yards as anyone and 12 more TDs than the next guy despite splitting time withanother quality back.

FB - Patte Molle, Hat Creek Cattle Company
*This is a tough position to select, but Pat put up 400 yds and 5 TDs and played a large role in Hat Creek's ground attack. Very solid season.

TE - Jason Eldon Taylor, Warsaw Warriors
*It's starting to feel like I'm picking the whole Warriors offense, but Taylor deserves the nod here, catching 4 more TDs than the next best TE.

WR1 - Shawn Olujawonn, London Head Hunters
*There is no debating this one. The best WR in the league plus a top QB meant a monster season for Olujawonn.

WR2 - Arman Mehrabkhani, Longreach Wildcats
*Mehrakbani has been a model of consistency and excellence on a very insonsistent Longreach team. 1300 yards and 10 TDs don't hurt either.

Offensive Line - nearly impossible to pick without watching tons of film and taking tons of notes. Here's my best shot:

OT -
Mocha Bear, Grodno Buckaroos
*Premier Zeta pass blocker - held top Zeta RE McBride to 1 Tkl, 0 Hry, 0 Sacks

Leonardo Tităs, Chernobyl Radionuclides
*A true road-grades who helped Chernobyl to one of the top rushing averages in Zeta

OG -

Dr. Acula, Grodno Buckaroos
*Another stud on a Grodno line that rates as one of the best in Zeta. Acula added 81 pancakes to very solid pass-blocking.

Big Heavy, Volgograd Berserks
*Led all Zeta Gs in pancakes. A true monster to deal with in the run game.

C -

Ying Yang, London Head Hunters
*Led all of Zeta in pancakes.

Defense:
*I went a little more subjective on the defensive side of the ball. Sometimes a defensive player's contribution is measured more by fulfilling their role than by piling up stats. As far as stats were concerned, I tried to weight more toward "impact stats" and not purely tackles. I also tried not to penalize players on good defenses that were not on the field as much as bad defenses.

LE - Laurent Croft, St. Petersburg
*In my opinion, he was the defensive MVP for all of Zeta this season. It's hard to argue with 90 Tkls, 46 Hry, 8 Sacks, 28 TFL, 5 FFum, and 2 INTs. I couldn't be more proud of my teammate.

RE - Justin McBride, Warsaw Warriors
*Clear #1 choice here. Tied with Croft for Zeta Sack lead and racked up Hurries as well.

DT - Henry Lodge, Volgograd Berserks
*Easily the most dominant player at his position. Racked up 81 tackles and 34 TFLs from a position where most running plays
are directed away from him.

NT - Aceroni Creighton, Grodno Buckaroos
*Put up very solid stats with 31 Tkls, 11 Hry, 10 TFLs, and 3 FFum despite battling frequent double-teams.

LOLB - Carsyn Alexander, Chernobyl Radionuclides
*This one was almost too close to call, but Alexander had a big INT for a TD that put him over the top.

ROLB - Teddy Pinkerton, The Look
*Showed a nose for the ball with 4 INTs on the season. This was a close one with quite a few candidates considered.

MLB - Monster of the Midway, Hat Creek Cattle Company
*Tough to stop this guy when he blitzed up the gut. Collected 14 TFLs, 2 sacks, and 2 INTs on the season.

CB - Robert Bullet, Volgograd Berserks
*Didn't pick up huge stats because his man was seldon targeted. Still, racked up 5 INTs in limited chances.

CB - Ichabod Blutharsh, St. Petersburg Storm
*This guy has been exceptional all season. He is a real asset in run support and seldom leaves his man open. He also has a knack for the big play with 6 INTs and a Sack on the season.

SS - Dragar Banyan, Hat Creek Cattle Company
*Recorded 92 Tkls and an impressive 28 PDs from the SS spot. His ability to get his hands on the ball in pass coverage really put him over the top.

FS - Brett McG, The Look
*Impressive in coverage support with 3 INTs and 22 PDs.

Special Teams:

K - Super Squishy - London Head Hunters
*Very prolific and very accurate.

P - Bubba Boomer - Prague Panthers
*Led the league in punting average with a ton of punts. What more can you ask?

Well, in all honesty, we can't really have a true all-pro team due to this simple fact:

-There is no way to really measure how well FB's, TE's, OG's, OT's, C's, NT's, DT's, LB's and in some cases FS's and SS's perform.

All those positions require so much more than putting their basic stats on the board. Sure, a TE can be measure purely on pass catching. However, what about the blocking TE builds on a solid running team? OL-men can be meaures on pancakes, but honestly, pancakes are a pretty weak indicator of whether or not an Ol-men is doing his job.

So, ya, it's tough. Honestly, i had about 4 guys per position who i felt should be recognized as the best at their spot. However, I would just assume shoot myself than try and do a write up that long lol.

I was going to do a 2nd team, but my eyes are bleeding and I have things I gotta get done today.

On another note, I'm sure Tega would have liked a more pro-active response in this, toward the cut off time there were still a ton of teams that hadn't signed up for voting and thus he had to carry the choices, not a popular decision but it ain't his fault.

Keep it in mind for next season and make sure you guys are all on this like white on rice, and we can make sure we cover multiple positions. I would have liked to see atleast a 2 TE call, 4 LBs and 5 CBs, as well as backups at several spots. It's unreasonable to point though when I ain't do shit myself for this.
