I have read that there is a lot of talk about throwing games in the playoffs so teams don't get promoted! I think that is absurd and defeats the purpose of why we are all here. But at the same time it might be the best option for an owner and his team. It turns out every Can A league is thinking of doing the same thing. No one wants to be promoted into a league that they will get killed in.

Every league has promotions/demotions which helps keep everything competitive. But every other league has had a full season to mature players, build bankroll, build up their stadium, build team chemistry all without a level cap. The teams that win the conference championships in a lower level aren't suppose to dominate in the next level, but they aren't suppose to get beat by 100 pts each game either.

There is a push to try and get the Admins to allow us a full season before we promote, not sure how likely this will be, but it is worth a shot.

Who ever end up being promoted to the Can AA is going to have to make one of two choices:
1) Cut the guys who got him there and say thanks but you are not good enough for me now and I don't need you anymore (which sucks balls!)
2) Stick with the guys who got him there and take a beating by a 15 teams full of level +20 players and be demoted after one season.

We are the trial run of mid-season team additions, lets let them no that it is unfair to promote any of us right now.

Lets make sure our voices are heard!

Do not just think about the teams that will go from A league to AA league. Think about the teams that come from AA league down to A league. They will have a good head start on dominating the league and winning it all. Funny, complete loser one season and a league champ the next.

This is all much ado about nothing.

Everyone's assuming that if you get promoted from A to AA that your team will suck in the higher league, and that if you get demoted from AA to A you'll dominate in the lower league.

But nobody is looking at any ACTUAL EXAMPLES.

Last season, two teams got promoted from USA BBB #14 up to USA A: the Buffalo Rangers and the Naked Mole-Rats. ( http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=315581 )

How are they doing this season? Are they getting destroyed now that they're playing in tougher leagues?

Nope.

The Buffalo Rangers are 10-4 and in 5th place in their new league.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1702

The Naked Mole-Rats are 13-1 and in 2nd place in their new league.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1706

Meanwhile, the South Beach Soldiers were in a AAA league last season, one level below Pro. They only won one game last season. They made arrangements to swap spots with a BBB team and wound up in BBB #14.

Since they went from a tougher league to a WAY weaker league, they should be dominating, right?

Nope.

The newly-renamed South Beach Tokers are 5-9 and in 11th place in their new league.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=37

Fact is, good owners will find a way to get their team to win, no matter what league they get promoted to. It may not be as easy, and they may not dominate the way they used to, but if they're a good owner, they'll find a way to win.

And vice-versa. Bad owners don't know how to win. Even after getting demoted to a lower league, they're still going to be making the same mistakes that made them suck in the higher league. It's just that now they're in a league where those mistakes aren't as costly, and they'll manage to steal a few more wins, but not many more.

DON'T BE AFRAID OF ADVANCING! It's just a new challenge for you. Rise up to it.

Novus your comparing apples to oranges. USA has full leagues and BBB's are much much higher avg lvl. This is a FRESH and CAP League going into a developed league. Much different scenario and one that has not come up before since the only other cap league was in europe but they have a full season to try and gain ground.

The BBB league's have an average starter lvlrange of about 15.5 to 16.4 on July 3rd compared to the USA A leagues at range of 16.8 to 18.5.

The other A league with a Cap???

Western Europe A #2: 11.1242
Western Europe A #4: 11.206
Western Europe A #1: 11.2187
Western Europe A #6: 11.3107
Western Europe A #7: 11.3199
Western Europe A #8: 11.3205
Western Europe A #3: 11.566
Western Europe A #5: 11.6636

Canada A??

Canadian A #7: 7.5619
Canadian A #5: 7.7989
Canadian A #6: 8.1595
Canadian A #3: 8.2808
Canadian A #2: 8.4679
Canadian A #4: 8.5615
Canadian A #8: 8.7427
Canadian A #1: 8.7904

All only above D-Leagues.

Lowest Canada AA?
Canadian AA #4: 15.5904

Highest??
Canadian AA #2: 16.0056

Hmm average lvl in Canda A is about 8 vs average lvl in Canda AA is about 16.

So to compete you have to completely restructure your team because to gain an average of 8 lvls you are more then likely gonna have to rebuild. Dont mention boosts because a lot of teams dont boost till end season/playoff anyhow so boosting is all relative in comparison.

Well the championship teams in a league usually have levels over the average of that said league. Laval for instance is beyond the rest of the teams in A2 with their lvls and could most likely do well in the AA league.

The problem was the lvl 13 cap, how can teams move up a league and compete when they had level restrictions on their recruiting in the first place. Its difficult to ascertain the proper competitiveness needed to promote to a tougher league when your doomed from the start.

It is what it is though, whoever mvoes up will have it tough, but will probably be better off for it. Solid tactics and gameplanning can overcome a lvl deficit.

I don't think even Laval will be able to compete. In our League, everyone had boosted early to make the most out of the shortened playing schedule. Even Laval was still lower then the worst AA team (which is a gutted team and will be rebuilt in the offseason), when the playoffs hit, most of those teams will then boost, and the gap is gonna jump by about 2 levels on avg. Going into next season there is going to be a 5 level gap unless Laval boosts again at the start, and that will reduce it to maybe a 3 level gap. As we proved in our game vs Laval, even a perfect strategy isn't enough to overcome levels at this stage in the game.

So are you. As pointed out by MattMan, only the top 2 teams would advance from each Canada A-league, and those advancing teams probably have average levels that are considerably higher than the league average. So, comparing the entire Canada A average to the entire Canada AA average isn't valid, because the advancing A-level teams are above average.

Alas, I don't have time to figure out the level averages of the top Canada A teams, or I'd complete this argument.

The main point I'm trying to make is that everyone is assuming that moving up a league automatically means you'll suck in the higher league, and that moving down a league automatically means you'll dominate in the lower league. I think my examples above blow both of those assumptions out of the water.

Actually that is not true, The South East Asia AA conference was mid season league that only had a five game schedule to start, in season 1. And to maybe ease a few minds, the team that won our conferences both survived and did well in AAA.

Just use Puvirnituq's level average as the high end of the spectrum. FLAGSHIP!

Whoever moves up will do well, it wont take long for the lower lvls to catch up to the higher ones. They shouldn't have put a lvl cap on a new league, thats where they did it wrong IMO.

Some teams might not have boosts left over. For Eastern Europe AAA, a lot of teams boosted right before their first big game. So it's not guaranteed that every Canada AA team will be three levels higher to start the next season.

I PMed A Admin and he said the Top 2 teams from each conference will be promoted so in this case it will be Lancaster and Purvinituq.
