Game of the Week: Halifax Fire (3-3 L2) @ Medicine Hat Witch Doctors (3-3 L1)

Big time playoff implications right here. Moose Jaw is likely to win their match-up with Sherbrook which would put them in a tie with the winner of this game for the 8th playoff spot in the East. Both of these teams have an easier final game than Moose Jaw does, so this game is a big time game if they wish to get to the playoffs. There are a lot of situations involved in this though, as each team could wind up tied for 8th, in which case that makes this game most important for the Medicine Hat Witch Doctors as they could own the tiebreakers over both squads.

As a player on the likely number one seed, Canadian Bacon, this game is the one we're watching closely this week. And we wish the best for both teams.

The Bacon never miss an opportunity to tell everybody they are #1... lol

It does not matter WHAT seed you are in the playoffs, the important thing is that you make it.

Last year the team I was on placed 2nd and lost to in the conf. finals. To Whom? The 4th seed I do believe. (And the winners of the whole damn thing!)

The #1 seed was unbeaten and was knocked out first round -- And this tends to happen a good amount of times

this is pretty tough for Aspermont. We are 6th in these rankings (we should be 7th, we lost to the Vancouver Valients) but we are in 7th place in the playoff standings

three teams are right on our tail, we do hold a tiebreaker over Medicine Hat, but we do not play Halifax of Moose Jaw

our next 2 games are against 5-1 Prince Edwand Island and 4-2 Ft. Richards (Western Confrence)

it is tough down the playoff stretch

That wasn't a plug at all, and I believe that's the first reference to our #1 spot I've made. What I was trying to iterate is that the match-up I noted has implications towards us because it may decide who we face. I didn't say we'd beat them, merely that's who we may face. Completely unbiased if you ask me. I'm as humble as anyone, it's not like we've dominated. Hell if not for a 50 yard OT rushing play or a 50 yard bomb over the defense we may not be the #1 team in the standings, that's exactly why we're watching closely as to how the standings are going so we know who we're going to meet and get a jump on game planning.

Agreed. Game planning and that one big play will decide alot of the East's playoff games. I don't expect to see many, if any easy wins this time around.

Gameplanning AND builds. Since we were capped nobody has a bunch of ringers so builds are going to be very important in the matchups in the playoffs
