For a level 20 QB? Nay. I'm sure it will be more important later in your career, just not yet.

Why not early on when your Line and Receivers arn't as strong as they should be when you are later levels?

There's a reason it is the last special ability in the tree and it costs the most to raise. I don't think that reason is because Bort thought it would be a skill that QBs in their first couple of seasons needed to have really high. Level 20 may seem mid level now but remember that's a player probably only in his second season (3rd if he doesn't boost) of a planned 10 season progression. You need to be a very good quarterback that doesn't make many mistakes before you start worrying about trying to give your team mates small boosts to stamina and morale. If you don't do your job well then you are completely negating the bonus anyway by throwing incomplete passes, turning the ball over or forcing punts.

If you want to work on special abilities you could really pump up tight spiral which is sitting up close to the front of the skill tree (which is probably an indicator that is important to raise early on) for what it would cost to spend points on a little bit of pump fake (just having a little won't do much so those points won't help you until you come back later and raise it a lot) so you can then spend points on turn shoulder (pocket presence is a better bet if you are hurried more than you are sacked) so that you can finally raise Field General (the most expensive ability) a moderate amount.

An investment of 8SP can get it up 2, not too too much. (1-1-1-1-2+2) Maybe it's the last SA because it's the strongest? Boosting the morale and stamina of the entire O should be very benificial, especially at a lower level.

I see a QB at level 20 being maybe 1/3 of his career old. As game exp decreases and they are hitting the soft cap on their prime attributes, the growth of the player will slow down drastically. Boosting every year will provide three levels and probably grow 4 levels if starting at 20, 3 starting at 27 and so forth. Again, your competition should grow with you and how much will a small morale and stamina boost help against defenses level 30+?

I don't disagree with boosting Tight Spiral and actually for a lower level QB Pocket Presence, but I really can't just out right say "nay"

I don't outright say nay, I say make sure your QB already has very good skills before you really invest in Field General. Special abilities at very low levels like 1 or 2 tend to not do all that much based on personal experience and things I have read other people noticed about their builds. I'm sure that getting it up to 5 or 6 would provide a noticeable bonus, but the skill point cost to get it that high on all but the highest level QBs right now would likely mean at least some of their passing skills are sub-par.

I'll take a level ~20 QB with very high skills that can complete 65% of his passes and throw twice as many TDs as he does INTs (thus keeping offensive morale high and their defense's morale low) over a QB with low skills but the ability to boost stamina and morale. I'd bet the drop in quality of QB play would go a long ways towards offsetting whatever morale bonus the SA provides while simultaneously boosting the defense's morale as they get deflections and INTs. That just leaves the stamina bonus and I think getting your backups more plays per game is better for your team in the long run anyway as long as the starters still get enough to get close to their max possible exp from each game.

Agree but what I'm seeing with maybe 75% of the QBs is almost everyone has the same build and the TD to Int rate isn't 2-1, more like 1-3. There builds are based on what seems to be the common recommended build for players here in the boards that you build your skills for however many levels and ignore your SA.

There isn't enough results shown what FG would do in lower levels to outright say that it couldn't work.

if it was boosting their skill, maybe, but it just boosts stamina and morale, im thinking nay. Even if i was level 30 i think i would rather boost throwing up to the mid 80's before field general.
