Is anyone interested in setting up a pro bowl type voting system on here for our league? It would be cool to vote for pro bowl teams for each conference. Just an idea.

I am down. I think all owners should nominate a certain amount of players from their team. then somehow select pro bowlers from those nominations.

For my team I nominate

MLB- Wally G Cleaver 75 tackles 3 sacks 4 pd
OLB- Danny Lank 84 tackles 1 hurry 7 pd 4 ffum
SS- Alfred Nobel 101 tackles 1 int 16 Pd

I think its a silly idea because their is no pro bowl.

I suggest we make a mass PM poll for players. Put the starters of every team under each category and have a Zeta v. Alpha speculation fight on the game. (not like a PbP but overall build TYPE, such as pass rush or run stuffer, revealed and speculated onto)

Also, I vote GMs* and Owners of the year be added on. Owners are automatically added. Owners can nominate GMs at discretion.

GM = OC, DC, Head Coach in my mind.

There was a guy who did this in Canadian AA last year, CTGuyton. He had all the owners send him nominations, then set up a website where anyone could go in and vote (I think it was a freewebs.com site?). I don't know how these things work, but if someone wants to PM him and find out how he did it, go for it.

A number of leagues do this. I think the main thing is that owners nominate a couple players and everyone just votes either through the forum or PM or some other form of communication and then a volunteer tallies up the scores and sets the roster. We could easily do one for Alpha and Zeta

If someone can figure out the logistics, I think each team owner should nominate like 5 players.

i doubt ill have much todo with this. i might let one of my gm's do this. i just dont like the idea of picking out the 5 best when the whole team is the reason we are winning like we are.

At least, all owners should nominate an MVP for this league when the last regular season game is played. ( It is much easier to choose 1 player than 24. )

Yes I think an MVP type system is a good idea too. We could select the best player from each conference. All owners and possibly GMs could get a vote towards who they think is the overall best player or most valuable.

It'd be hard to nominate players from my team. The team is so good from the first guy to the last (and it's hard to even tell who's first and who's last!).

Take our running game for example. Our starting RB is 8th in total rushing yards, and our backup is 16th. If you look at TDs, our backup is tied 7th, and our starter is tied 15th. There's 16 teams in the league, which means both our starter and backup are doing better than some team's starters. Our O-line has 6 guys with more than 60 pancakes. Our defense doesn't get much playtime, but we have 9 guys with more than 40 tackles, and a CB with 12 INTs.

we have the same issue...we spread the ball around, and a bunch of defensive guys are about even in tackles and deflections. Good idea to have All-Conference teams, though.

Yeah, All conference will be our 'runner-up' in my book, while keeping SE Asia #2 Pro Bowl the best of the best.

I've read that a couple people think it would be difficult (or in poor taste, perhaps) to nominate select players from their own teams... so I thought I would throw a random idea out:

What about nominating perhaps 1 player from each position from OTHER teams in the Conference?

The logistics of this aside (I tend to aim high sometimes), this way no one on YOUR team would feel slighted... while players on other teams would likely be quite honored, and it might promote a bit of conference cohesion and goodwill.

I don't know about you... but I can definitely pick out players who have amazed me during the season. Incredible kickers... a free safety who OWNED the entire field... a wide receiver who burned us all day long.

If I'm talking crazy, just ignore me... I'm on my fifth coffee today and feeling exuberant. I like the Pro Bowl idea, personally... sure, there's no "real" game to be played, but it's kind of like the All Madden team. Just a bit of recognition for the guys who have made a difference in the conference.
