Last season I was splashing around in PeeWee and went overboard on Monster Hit all around the D. Never fired. This tells me either a level or attribute level must be hit before this particular SA has a chance to fire.

Anyone ever put a list together of best guesses for other SAs? Some SAs I'm convinced totally work at lower levels. Before I get the "don't spend in SAs before plateau" motherly advice, I'm aware but don't comply.

I see look off fire alot.

I don't think any of the general abilities work at lower levels. (The one for C, NT, and MLB)

fakes are also nerfed on the pee wee level so not sure how much head fake, juke, etc work

did you try big hit? Perhaps pee wee doesn't have the attributes high enough for monster hit to work but maybe big hit does?

I didn't try Big Hit. Just Monster Hit

Not curious about what works in PW but more about, "such n such starts firing at attribute level 60" etc

Funny, I was really interested in this recently and did some exploring.

I had AI evaluate the entire playoffs for the pro leagues last season. Going in I was not expecting the results. Monster hit had about 10x more effect than Big Hit. Diving Tackle and Monster Hit are very good SAs.

Monster Hit — 54 triggers; 11 FF (20.4%) + 4 neg plays → 27.8% stall proxy. Absolute tier-1 drive killer.

Big Hit — 40 triggers; 1 FF (2.5%) + 1 neg play → 5.0% stall proxy. Useful field-position helper, rarely flips possession.

Diving tackle (made) — 368 triggers; 3 FF (0.8%) + 11 neg plays → 3.8% stall proxy. High-volume cleanup that nudges drives toward punts.

fwiw... 1 million years ago, Bort nerfed SAs for rookies because they were overshadowing the entire builds. for example, to build a pHB all you had to do was throw all SPs in Power Thru.

Bort decided that was bad and thus the yay mighty nerf bat was swungeth


I'll see if I can dig that up, it's probably in the change log somewhere

Just to take a step back on good ol' dotball theory.

Keep in mind everything is a "battle roll" between the O and the D, and the only time you see an SA "Fire" on the PBP is when both (a) The SA activates, and (b) you "win" the battle roll against the opposing play.

Examples:

Power Thru is a +flat bonus to your break tackle score. If Power Thru activates but the defender still wins the make tackle vs break tackle battle, you get tackled with no PBP alert

Monster is a +flat bonus to your FFUM score. If Monster Hit activates but the offensive player wins the break tackle vs make tackle score, you miss the tackle with no PBP alert

Same applies to almost everything. If you have a bunch of juke/fakes and play two separate teams (one with double stacked avoid fake and great dots, the other with shittier dots), you'll see way more "Jukes" on the PBP against the second team.

Really good posts. Firm believer in Monster Hit. Against advice, I put 1pt. into Monster Hit. Did this at L14 and it kicked in at L15. Looks like Diving Tackle will be next, given stats above.Prolly will hold out till^L50. Maybe do FF instead. Thoughts?
