Not sure if this will help but it's a cool story bro...
Originally, players had to be created on Day 40 if they wanted the maximum amount of TPs. That was irritating because of contracts and if you were hard core, on roll over on Day 39, there was a way to get a whole entire extra 2 TPs if you didn't miss the tiny window of opportunity.
All created players got 18 TPs and then there were 2 TPs gained every day until Day 48. So with absolutely perfect timing, you could start a player with 36 TPs. Every season.
Then, on top of that, there were the occasional hiccup off-seasons which ran longer, which caused players to get extra TPs.
Then we got more 2 TPs every day, after roll over from day -8 to 0.
The leagues would have players with all different TPs depending on the season and the day the players were created.
Eventually Bort killed off that non-sense, and gave everyone 36 TPs as long as they created between day 40 and 48.
The 56 TPs we get now is supposed to represent the basic 36 TPs plus another 20 TPs to represent a pre-season, which has now been cut down to 5 days, with double the TP (4 per night instead of the old 2).
So that's the story of the random ass 56 TPs, if anyone ever cared why 56 was chosen.
Any player created after roll over on Day 39 all the way through to Day 0 the next season will get the same amount of TPs. That's basically a 2 week window, from what used to be a 2 hour window.

Do dots that are created AFTER roll over end up getting less TPs than the dots who were created before roll over?
