Sorry just realized I never responded to this - yes let’s get something set up. I’d like to use this community to fine tune content and then develop a social strategy that does not need paid ads. I am a business consultant in the dental industry, we have a small team that does the work of many using AI. Most of the apps we need to do this I already have and use.

Very happy to read the above posts and hope it generates some new interest in an old relatively simple game that is annoyingly addictive. I think the "community" part of the game alone is a reason to recall the prodigal sons out there

Me too dude!! Honestly I haven’t been this excited about a game since leaving 10 years ago. Hell, my brother and I now talk more than ever just talking dotball. The world needs this. (If that’s too much, I had an edible about 45 minutes ago.)

The forum that we ran was private and wildly active forum, it’s been private like a time capsule for the last 10 years after we stopped being active and started families of our own. I just opened it up to make it a public forum. If anyone wants to take a trip down memory road there are a lot of unique content from people who were there at the beginning.

It's cool to look back on the forums and sad (nostalgia) to see old private forums that were once so active just be empty now

Interview King of Bling. Interview Playmakers. Interview WiseIvian. Interview Mauler. Interview Kinshenzin. Interview RyanCane. Interview drewD21. Interview shep1582.

And there's 2 dozen others who need to be interviewed, I just haven't been around for awhile and I'm sure I'm going to regret leaving them out the moment I hit "Post". That won't require three dozen segments--have a *round table* with several of them, and then repeat the process a few days later.

My apologies in advance to anyone I failed to mention.

I think that’s an amazing idea man! Podcast agents like professional athletes- pro championship like the Super Bowl - and share it with everyone - people will come back. They’ll all want to show you that our generation can do against the top players now. I sure do -we are ready to break the meta and obsess to do so like all of us do who are addicted to a game like this.

I updated the input context file for the AI hosts to have less fictional references - Here is an updated Podcast for Week 8 of our league.

https://notebooklm.google.com/notebook/c13faec0-eb2c-4d79-9a7a-5e3f7c736208/audio

I'd love to hear some feedback - what kind of format makes sense? what would you like to se more or less of? I want to create an outline so there are defined segments that can be repeated with copy/paste data entered.

Also - as a new function they've added a "Join" button to the podcast - this could be for a segment to do interviews of agents

It's amazing. I'm too old to comprehend how this works.

I happen to OC the Stoners, so it's weird to have them actually acknowledged.

The only thing I noticed is that the weeks seem jumbled up. Like the look ahead to WK9 was the wrong. And Like the "Oooh Ball Hawk" segment wasn't week 8. I think that hold over week 7 data.

That is awesome! Definitely was really cool!

I think a "weekly" breakdown or just breakdown of the games in a league would be really cool. Loved how it touched on different games. Would be cool to have it be kind of like when SportsCenter or NFL Primetime would do a highlight type of breakdown?!?! Going over key plays in games around the league or kind of how SC would do highlights of games.

What were some of your insights of what you wanted to do with it?

Above is a podcast from our league games this week - this took roughly 5 minutes to build on my phone, for free, with copy/paste and a couple apps.

I believe social media could be easier than we think - with a small community of people we could probably hack TikTok or instagrams algorithm pretty easy to get website clicks. We could use our referral links to get people to sign up.

I’d be happy to organize a real team to do this. Perhaps the most actionable thing would be to hold a conference call/town hall style meeting to organize

Fun listen!

Any tips on how to do this?

Nice! For the wrap ups, I have 2 crude google docs that I use - These can be templated and much greater detail added. I use 2 source documents to generate a podcast

1. Context Document - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tPFKyD4RGe4FOlIp0PH3StipDYhbgU-D-LE7XSe9HCI/edit?usp=sharing - This let's the audio know what framework to use for the show

2. Data document - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iuNPe0dp1wphM_pyeW1MDVe2SuAN_6re5TvwlgJGa4U/edit?usp=sharing - This is what the app knows about Week 9

Source #3 is just a link to GLB, not sure if this is needed.

Here is the output from the most recent one today:

Week 9 - https://notebooklm.google.com/notebook/c13faec0-eb2c-4d79-9a7a-5e3f7c736208/audio

I think it's getting better. Using the snip tool makes gathering data really easy

Love this idea! The Capital Times was an effort to spark some community chat, and while it was fun, it was a massive amount of work that just wasn't sustainable (unless I quit my job, lol!). If AI can be used to do the same, we absolutely should.

One thing that we probably need to keep in mind:

I tried reaching out to Bort and DD a couple times to see if they'd get behind some sort of effort to resurrect the game, but I met with a deafening silence. If we're going to attempt to rebuild the community, I think we're on our own. There doesn't seem to be much interest on their part.

What does that mean practically? We can probably reach new potential players, but we won't have access to the massive database of old players who've left the game. That's where the gold is - players like many of ourselves who've disappeared over the years, but who may come back and rediscover why they liked the game in the first place.

There's a worthwhile story to tell, here, too: The shortened time it takes for a dot to reach plateau. That's a massive improvement that I'm sure would have lots of people coming back to the game, if only they knew.

100% agree - the advancements in AI bring a pretty incredible amount of scale to creating things like this. So with a template we can create video, images, text and audio on demand. The trick is the prompt, which is why templates are so important.

I also reached out to DD. Haven’t heard back yet, but I’d imagine if we independently all rowed the same direction and flooded them with sign up’s they’d probably respond. You have to look at it from their perspective, it’s likely a long shot in their mind - but if we can show them some success I couldn’t imagine we would stay ignored.
