This would also be a good season to reboot a new squad. Super quiet so far. There's going to be agents looking to build players with no place to go.

Not that I'm expecting we will qualify this season, but since the game has shifted to 6-team conferences, how does the playoff format work now? Thanks in advance!

3 rounds. top 4 in each 1v4, 2v3 1st round. There's a huge gap between the end of the season and playoffs. like 96 hours or something crazy. by the end of day 40 everything is done.

Some big games today in the Rose League. The Ghosts are going to cruise to an easy victory today over the Reapers, all-but-ensuring a 9-7 regular season record. Meanwhile, the Sea Wasps (9-6) host the Winterfell Direwolves (10-4-1). If the Direwolves can beat the Wasps, Athens and Glendale will each finish the season at 9-7. Glendale and Athens split their regular season series with a game a piece, but the points-scored differential would go to Athens (107-84). You can't get much closer than that, but the Alpha Conference playoff picture may already be set.
Meanwhile, across town in the Beta Conference, the question everyone is wondering is whether the Bawlers can catch the Gofers in the standings. The Bawlers host the Cornhuskers - a team they handily beat earlier this season, 80-17. If they can do it again, and if the Mayans can surprise the Gofers, top spot in the Beta Conference would be up for grabs. The Mayans will be in tough against a solid Gofers squad though. The last time they met back in week 4, the Gofers trounced them in a convincing 63-0 rout. Can San Padre pull one out today and surprise the high-flying Gofers?
Stay tuned!

My chatgpt bookie says:
Game Prediction
Winterfell Direwolves vs. Athens Sea Wasps
Predicted Score:
Winterfell Direwolves: 24
Athens Sea Wasps: 20
Over/Under
Over/Under Line: 44 points
Odds of Winning
Winterfell Direwolves: -135 (implied probability of about 57.4%)
Athens Sea Wasps: +115 (implied probability of about 46.5%)
[b]Reasoning:
Points Scored vs. Points Allowed:
The Winterfell Direwolves average 53.2 points scored per game and allow 17.4 points. However, the Athens Sea Wasps are close in terms of points scored per game (54.7) and allow slightly more points per game (26.1). This suggests a close matchup, but the Direwolves have a slight edge in both offense and defense.
Total Touchdowns and Plays:
The Athens Sea Wasps have a slightly better record in terms of total touchdowns (116) compared to the Direwolves (111). However, the Direwolves have a higher number of offensive plays, indicating a more controlled and possibly efficient offense.
Defensive Plays and Pressure:
The Direwolves also have more defensive plays per game, which could mean their defense is more tested but potentially more resilient.
Considering these factors, the game is expected to be close, with the Direwolves having a slight advantage due to their better overall defensive record and consistent scoring ability. The over/under is set based on the combined offensive and defensive performances, with both teams likely to score around their seasonal averages.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, the last of the regular season games have been played. Winterfell did indeed manage to beat the Sea Wasps (rather convincingly, too). Their 42-3 victory locks up the 2nd seed in Alpha Conference for the Wolves, setting up a rematch in the first round between these two teams, who split the regular season series. With the lop-sided loss, pundits are wondering if Athens be able to adjust in time? Were they just sandbagging? Tune in next week to find out.
Meanwhile, over in Beta, the Gofers again proved to be more than a match for the Mayans. The Gofers trounced the Mayans in their first encounter this season, 63-0, but the Mayans (who even managed to sneak in a running play this time - very sneaky, Santo Padre!) made it a much closer affair this time around, going down in flames by a mere 69-14.
The victory ensures the Gofers have locked up the top seed in Beta, setting up a first round tilt against the scrappy Lincoln Cornhuskers. The Mayans, meanwhile, will travel to Brasilia for their first round matchup against the Bawlers.
Will any of it matter, though? Lurking in the wings are the Golden Kangaroos, who have romped to a perfect regular season record of 16-0. It seems that the road to the Rose League championship will lead through 'the Big Easy' - a game that promises to be anything but...

I'd hope they would go 16-0 resetting every season to rookie and getting all the plays down, lol.

Different strokes for different folks. rimfalk answered a PM question I had earlier this season (concerning, ironically, promotion to the prep leagues) - information I was grateful to receive at the time because I was still just recently back in the game. In his reply, he added that... "I like the thrill of new players each season, like a first year college team (one season more focus on speed, another season on agility)".
I think at its best, GLB is a sandbox, and if the Roos want to hang around in the rookie leagues, it just makes for a more challenging rookie season.
